Selecting the right vanity is a defining moment in any bathroom design, acting as the bridge between essential utility and high-end style.

The vanity top, in particular, serves as the most visible and heavily used surface in the room, bearing the brunt of daily routines while setting the aesthetic tone for the entire space.

For many Australian homeowners, the challenge lies in finding a balance between durable materials that can withstand moisture and heat, and configurations that make the most of available square footage. By understanding the unique properties of modern materials like sintered stone and the spatial benefits of corner vanities, you can transform even the most challenging bathroom layout into a sophisticated sanctuary.

Understanding the Role of Vanity Tops in Modern Design

A vanity top is far more than just a platform for a basin; it is a critical design element that influences the light, texture, and longevity of your bathroom. In contemporary Australian homes, there is a clear shift away from basic laminate towards premium surfaces that offer both tactile beauty and rigorous performance. Whether you are designing a high-traffic family bathroom or a sleek guest powder room, the choice of material will dictate how much maintenance is required and how well the space retains its value over time. Choosing a high-quality top from a trusted online Australia bathroom store ensures that your investment is backed by materials specifically engineered for the humid bathroom environment.

The Rise of Sintered Stone Vanity Tops

Sintered stone has emerged as a revolutionary material in the world of interior design, offering a level of durability that traditional natural stones often struggle to match. This material is created through a high-tech process known as sintering, which involves subjecting natural minerals to extreme pressure and temperatures exceeding 1,200°C. This mimics the natural formation of stone but at an accelerated pace, resulting in a slab that is incredibly dense and virtually non-porous.

MyHomeware

  • Superior Resistance: Sintered stone is exceptionally resistant to scratches, stains, and high heat, making it perfect for those who use styling tools like straighteners or curling irons directly on the benchtop.
  • Hygienic Surface: Because it is non-porous, it does not harbour bacteria or mould, providing a cleaner environment for personal hygiene routines.
  • UV Stability: Unlike some engineered stones that use resin binders, sintered stone is UV resistant, meaning it will not discolour or fade if your bathroom receives significant natural sunlight.

For those seeking a luxurious look without the constant need for sealing and special care, Sintered Stone Vanity Tops provide an ideal solution that remains pristine for decades.

The Timeless Appeal of Stone Vanity Tops

While sintered stone offers cutting-edge performance, traditional stone vanity tops continue to be a favourite for their organic beauty and unique character. Whether it is the classic veining of marble or the robust nature of granite, natural and high-quality composite stones bring an element of the outdoors inside, creating a grounding and sophisticated atmosphere.

MyHomeware

  • Unique Aesthetics: No two pieces of natural stone are exactly alike, ensuring that your bathroom vanity is a one-of-a-kind feature in your home.
  • Tactile Luxury: The cool, solid feel of stone adds a premium sensory experience to the room that is difficult to replicate with synthetic materials.
  • Value Addition: Stone surfaces are universally recognised as a high-value upgrade, often increasing the overall appeal and resale potential of a property.

To maintain the beauty of Stone Vanity Tops, it is important to choose options that are pre-sealed or to maintain a regular sealing schedule, protecting the surface from the oils and chemicals found in many soaps and cosmetics.

Corner Vanities: The Ultimate Space-Saving Secret

Not every bathroom has the luxury of a long, expansive wall for a double vanity. In many urban apartments, heritage renovations, or secondary ensuites, floor space is at a premium. This is where corner vanities become the “secret weapon” of the clever designer. By utilising the often-wasted space where two walls meet, these units free up the centre of the room, making the entire bathroom feel significantly larger and more open.

MyHomeware

  • Optimised Layouts: Placing a vanity in the corner improves the “traffic flow” of the room, ensuring that doors and shower screens can open fully without obstruction.
  • Clearing Visual Bulk: By tucking the largest fixture into a corner, you break up long lines and reduce the visual weight of the cabinetry, which helps a small room feel less cluttered.
  • Functional Storage: Despite their compact footprint, modern corner units are designed with smart internal shelving and drawers, ensuring you don’t have to sacrifice storage for space.

Corner Vanities are particularly effective in powder rooms, where a standard-depth vanity might feel cramped or prevent comfortable movement.

Choosing the Right Configuration for Your Space

When deciding between different vanity styles and materials, it is helpful to consider the specific needs of the users and the limitations of the room.

Feature Sintered Stone Top Natural Stone Top Corner Vanity Unit
Best For High-traffic/Low-maintenance Luxury/Period homes Small/Awkward layouts
Durability Extremely High High (with care) Dependent on material
Maintenance Minimal (No sealing) Moderate (Requires sealing) Easy (Accesses corners)
Visual Impact Modern & Seamless Classic & Organic Compact & Efficient

Practical Tips for a Stunning Vanity Installation

To ensure your new vanity looks and functions perfectly, consider these expert tips before you purchase:

  • Check the Plumbing: For corner vanities, ensure your existing plumbing can be easily diverted to the corner without major structural changes.
  • Coordinate Your Tapware: The height and reach of your tap should complement your vanity top and basin style to prevent splashing.
  • Lighting Matters: Always plan for lighting that eliminates shadows on the face, such as wall sconces or LED mirrors, especially when using darker stone tops.
  • Measure Clearances: Remember to account for the swing of the bathroom door and the space needed to stand comfortably in front of the vanity.

Elevate Your Bathroom Experience

A stunning bathroom is built on a foundation of smart choices and quality materials. By selecting a vanity top that matches your lifestyle and a configuration that respects your room’s layout, you create a space that is both beautiful and effortless to use.

]]>
Selecting the right basin is a foundational decision in any bathroom renovation or build. The choice impacts the daily functionality of the space, the ease of movement, and the overall aesthetic appeal of the home.

While many homeowners focus purely on visual trends, the most successful designs prioritise how a basin integrates with the specific layout and the unique needs of the household. Whether you are working with a compact powder room, a high-traffic family bathroom, or a space requiring inclusive design features, understanding the functional nuances of different basin styles is essential.

The Importance of Selecting the Right Basin Style

The basin is often the most used fixture in the bathroom, serving as the primary station for personal hygiene and grooming. Choosing an inappropriate style can lead to a cramped environment or a lack of necessary accessibility. Modern Australian homes often require a balance between high-end style and practical space management. By evaluating your specific requirements—such as floor space, user mobility, and storage needs—you can select a basin that enhances both the value and the liveability of your home.

Maximising Compact Areas with Corner Basins

For many Australians, the challenge of the small bathroom or ensuite is a common renovation hurdle. Corner basins are specifically engineered to address these space constraints by utilising underused corners of the room. This configuration frees up valuable wall space for other essential fixtures like towel rails or mirrors.

MyHomeware

  • Space Optimisation: Corner units allow for a functional wash station in rooms where a standard vanity would block the doorway or walkway.
  • Ideal for Powder Rooms: These basins are a premier choice for small guest toilets where the footprint is minimal but functionality remains a priority.
  • Streamlined Aesthetics: Modern designs offer sleek, minimalist profiles that prevent a small room from feeling cluttered.

Choosing a corner basin from a specialist bathroom supply shop ensures you receive a product that balances a compact exterior with a deep enough bowl for practical use.

Achieving Timeless Elegance with Pedestal Basins

Pedestal basins remain a staple in Australian interior design due to their classic silhouette and ability to create a sense of openness. Unlike bulky vanity units that sit flush against the floor, a pedestal basin stands on a slender column, exposing more of the floor and walls. This visual trick makes even modest bathrooms feel significantly larger and airier.

MyHomeware

  • Period Charm: They are the perfect accompaniment for heritage-style homes or those looking to achieve a vintage aesthetic.
  • Simplified Maintenance: With fewer surfaces and no internal cabinetry, these basins are often easier to clean and maintain over time.
  • Structural Focus: The pedestal hides unsightly plumbing while providing a sturdy support for the basin, resulting in a clean and polished finish.

While pedestal basins do not offer under-sink storage, they provide a sophisticated focal point that works exceptionally well in guest bathrooms or secondary washrooms.

Prioritising Inclusion with Accessible Basins

Designing for all ages and abilities is no longer just a regulatory requirement for commercial spaces; it is a growing priority for residential renovations. Accessible basins are designed to be used comfortably by individuals with limited mobility or those who use wheelchairs. These fixtures are a key component of aging-in-place strategies, ensuring a home remains functional for its occupants throughout different stages of life.

MyHomeware

  • Ergonomic Design: These basins often feature a shallower bowl and a curved front to allow a seated user to get closer to the taps.
  • Clearance Space: The design typically eliminates bulky pedestals or cabinets underneath, providing the necessary knee and toe clearance for wheelchair access.
  • Safety and Compliance: Using disability-compliant fixtures ensures your bathroom meets Australian standards for safety and inclusive design.

Investing in accessible options demonstrates a commitment to inclusive design, ensuring that family members and guests of all abilities can use the space with dignity and ease.

Comparing Basin Styles for Your Project

To help you decide which basin style best fits your current project, consider the primary goals of your renovation:

Basin Style Primary Benefit Best Suited For
Corner Basins Maximum floor space Ensuites and powder rooms
Pedestal Basins Timeless, airy aesthetic Heritage homes and small bathrooms
Accessible Basins Inclusive functionality Multi-generational homes and disability care

This year marks 70 years since Abey first opened its doors on Halsey Road, Airport West in Victoria Australia.

From a modest workshop in Airport West to a national leader in plumbing and building solutions, Abey celebrates 70 years of innovation and excellence.

Originally established as A and B Tool and Die Manufacturers Pty Ltd, the company specialized in press tools for Ford, General Motors, and the engineering industry.

1956 was a landmark year—not only did Melbourne host the Olympic Games, but our current Managing Director recalls watching the building of the original facility as a 12-year-old. The bricks used bore the Olympic symbol, commemorating the event.

By 1966, we were producing tooling for a small seatbelt manufacturer. Seatbelts became mandatory in Victoria in new cars in 1969, and in all cars Australia wide by 1972. Australia led the world in safety standards. This surge in demand prompted us to establish our own press shop, enabling expansion into plumbing and building products—a pivotal moment that marked the birth of Abey Australia.

In 1974, James Hardie ceased asbestos flue production, creating an opportunity for innovation. By 1975, we introduced Duravent Twin Wall Gas Flue, revolutionising the plumbing industry.

In the decades that followed, Abey remained at the forefront of innovation with a series of award-winning solutions manufactured here in Australia. Highlights include the launch of the Abey Interchangeable Clipping System, the development of the Flexishaft Skylight, and the introduction of corrosion-resistant masonry products in response to the Newcastle earthquake. We also expanded into premium stainless steel kitchen sinks and a full range of kitchen and bathroom tapware.

Abey Australia

Showrooms opened in all major capital cities. Developed the worlds only horizontal powder coating machine. We continue to expand our industrial clipping and masonry solutions.

As we celebrate seven decades of progress, our commitment to Australian Manufacturing and shaping the future of building and plumbing solutions remains stronger than ever.

In any bathroom, tapware is far more than just a functional fixture; it is the jewellery of the space, defining the aesthetic, controlling the water experience, and ensuring everyday accessibility.

From a sleek shower mixer to essential sink accessories, every piece of tapware plays a crucial role in the design, comfort, and safety of your daily routine. This guide introduces and explains the key types of bathroom tapware—including shower tapware, disability tapware, and essential tap accessories—to help you understand how to choose suitable products for functionality, accessibility, and overall bathroom design.

MyHomeware is your trusted online partner, providing quality, functional, and stylish tapware solutions for all Australian bathrooms.

The Foundation of Functionality: Understanding Shower Tapware

The tapware you choose for your shower dictates water flow, temperature control, and the overall convenience of your wash routine. The fundamental choice often comes down to mixers versus traditional sets.

Tapware Essentials

Mixers vs. Traditional Shower Sets

  • Single-Lever Mixers: These are the modern, minimalist choice. They operate with a single handle to control both water temperature (by pivoting horizontally) and flow (by tilting vertically). They are popular for their clean look, ease of use, and simple installation, making them highly desirable shower tapware solutions.
  • Traditional Two or Three-Piece Sets: These include separate handles for hot and cold water, often with a central diverter. While taking up more space, they offer precise, separate controls for temperature and flow, which some users prefer for their traditional feel and reliable ceramic disc technology.

The Importance of Internal Components

Regardless of the style, the internal component—the cartridge—is vital for long-term performance. Quality shower tapware uses durable ceramic disc cartridges. Unlike older rubber washers, ceramic discs provide a watertight seal, preventing drips and ensuring smooth operation for years. This high-quality internal engineering is essential for managing water flow and temperature control effectively.

Choosing high-quality shower tapware is critical for ensuring a reliable and stylish finish to your bathroom.

Designing for Everyone: The Role of Disability Tapware

Accessibility should be a core consideration in modern bathroom design. Disability tapware ensures that the bathroom is safe, comfortable, and independent for all users, including the elderly, children, or those with varied mobility needs. This tapware improves safety, grip, and accessibility for users with varied needs.

Key Features of Accessible Tapware

Disability tapware is purposefully designed to require minimal force and fine motor control, making operation easy and intuitive:

  • Lever Handles: Instead of small knobs, accessible tapware uses extended, easy-to-grip lever handles. These can be operated using a clenched fist, elbow, or forearm, which is far simpler than gripping and twisting a standard handle.
  • Thermostatic Mixers: A crucial safety feature, thermostatic mixers maintain a constant water temperature, preventing accidental scalding. This is particularly important in disability tapware setups where reaction time might be slower.
  • Gooseneck and Extended Spouts: These options provide greater clearance and reach over a basin or bath, allowing users to wash hands or fill containers without awkward leaning or obstruction.
  • Clear Visual and Tactile Indicators: Accessible tapware often includes clear colour coding (blue/red) and raised tactile indicators to assist users with visual impairment.

By incorporating these features, disability tapware enhances user independence and significantly reduces the risk of slips, falls, or burns in the bathroom, supporting users of all ages and abilities.

The Finishing Touches: Essential Tapware Accessories

Often overlooked, tapware accessories complete the functionality and aesthetic consistency of your bathroom. These small but essential components ensure everything works smoothly and seamlessly integrates into the overall design.

Crucial Components for Basins and Floors

  • Pop-Up Wastes: These components are essential for basin and bath drainage, offering a simple push-button mechanism to seal or release water. Choosing a waste that matches the finish of your main tapware (e.g., matte black or brushed nickel) provides a seamless and professional look.
  • Floor Grates and Channel Drains: While not strictly “tap” accessories, these are critical drainage components that must align aesthetically with your tapware. Sleek, linear channel drains are a modern alternative to traditional circular grates, offering superior drainage and better integration with large-format floor tiles, complementing high-end tapware designs.

Maintenance and Upgrade Accessories

Accessories also extend to maintenance and minor upgrades, helping prolong the life and look of your tapware:

Tapware Essentials

  • Tap Handles and Spares: Over time, handles can wear out or become dated. Replacing just the handles or escutcheons (cover plates) can give a tired fixture a new lease on life, offering a cost-effective style upgrade.
  • Aerators and Flow Restrictors: These small devices screw onto the end of spouts, regulating water flow to improve efficiency and save water without sacrificing pressure. They are vital for meeting Australian WELS standards and enhancing the function of your existing tapware.

These tapware accessories ensure functionality, style consistency, and long-term durability in your bathroom design.

Style, Finishes, and Durability in Tapware Selection

The visual impact of your tapware is determined by its finish and shape. Choosing the right style ensures your taps act as cohesive design elements rather than isolated fixtures.

Tapware Essentials

Popular Finishes and Their Durability

  • Polished Chrome: The classic choice, chrome is highly durable, easy to clean, and reflects light beautifully. It offers a timeless, versatile look.
  • Matte Black: A contemporary favourite, matte black tapware creates a striking contrast against white or light-coloured tiles, offering a modern, dramatic aesthetic. Quality matte finishes use electroplating or powder-coating for long-lasting resistance to chipping and fading.
  • Brushed Nickel/Brass: These warmer finishes provide a sophisticated, industrial, or rustic touch. Brushed finishes are excellent at hiding fingerprints and water spots, making them a practical choice for busy bathrooms.

Matching Aesthetics for Cohesive Design

For a professional, high-end look, it is crucial to match the finish of all your tapware components—from the shower mixer and basin spout to the floor waste and towel rails. Consistency creates visual harmony, reinforcing the attention to detail in your bathroom design.

Choosing the right tapware is about much more than just controlling water flow—it’s a fundamental design decision that influences the aesthetic, functionality, and long-term convenience of your bathroom. The perfect fixtures seamlessly blend style and practicality, catering to the needs of every user.

This comprehensive guide will highlight the essential features and benefits of modern bathroom tapware, specialized disability tapware, and useful tap accessories, emphasizing how a trusted online Australian Bathroom Store like MyHomeware provides quality, functional, and stylish tapware solutions for all bathrooms.

Understanding Essential Bathroom Tapware

Before selecting the finish or style, it’s vital to understand the types of tapware available and their practical applications within the bathroom. Every area requires a specific solution.

Types of Taps and Their Practical Applications

  • Basin Taps: These are the most frequently used taps in the bathroom. They come in mixer styles (single lever control for temperature) or separate hot and cold pillar taps. They must be compatible with your basin style—either deck-mounted (fitted directly to the vanity or basin) or wall-mounted (creating a clean, modern look).
  • Bath Taps: Installed above the tub, these need a high flow rate for quick filling. Like basin taps, they are available in mixer or traditional styles, with some models featuring an integrated diverter for an optional handheld shower hose.
  • Shower Taps (Mixers/Diverters): In the shower area, you’ll primarily need a mixer to control temperature, which is often concealed behind the wall plate for a neat finish. For multi-head setups, a diverter is necessary to switch water flow between the main shower head, a handheld sprayer, or body jets.

Materials and Finish Options for Style and Durability

The material and finish of your tapware determine its durability, resistance to corrosion, and aesthetic impact.

Essential Tapware Solutions

Essential Tapware Solutions

  • Polished Chrome: The timeless and most popular choice, offering high shine, corrosion resistance, and easy cleaning. It blends effortlessly with any bathroom design.
  • Brushed Nickel: Provides a subtle, matte metallic look that is excellent at hiding fingerprints and water spots, offering a contemporary yet classic feel.
  • Matte Black: A strong trend-forward finish that creates dramatic contrast in light-coloured bathrooms and offers a sophisticated, modern statement.
  • Brass Construction: High-quality tapware bodies are typically constructed from solid brass for superior internal strength and longevity, regardless of the external finish applied.

Water Efficiency and Matching Bathroom Aesthetics

Modern tapware plays a critical role in water conservation. Water efficiency is measured by flow rates, which indicate how many litres of water are used per minute.

Essential Tapware Solutions

Look for taps with high WELS ratings; these eco-friendly options save water without compromising performance, often using efficient aerators to maintain strong pressure. Finally, ensure your tapware complements your vanities, basins, and other fixtures, such as towel rails and toilet flush plates, to achieve a cohesive, designer look.

Accessibility with Disability Tapware

Accessibility is a key factor in modern bathroom design. Disability tapware ensures that the bathroom is convenient and comfortable for all users, including children, the elderly, and those with limited mobility.

Ease of Use: Enhanced Functionality

Traditional twist-handle taps can be difficult to grip and turn. Disability tapware prioritizes mechanisms that require minimal strength and dexterity:

  • Lever Handles: Featuring long, easy-to-grip levers, these taps can be operated using a single finger, wrist, or elbow, eliminating the need for tight grasping.
  • Touch Taps: These allow users to simply tap the spout or body to activate the water flow, offering excellent control and hygiene.
  • Motion-Activated Taps: Sensor-activated options turn on and off automatically. They are the most hygienic choice and are perfect for users who cannot physically manipulate a handle.

The goal is enhanced independence and convenience. These designs improve comfort not only for users with permanent disabilities but also for temporary conditions, like a sprained wrist, or for everyday multi-tasking.

Compliance and Suitability

For installations in Australia, it is crucial that disability tapware complies with Australian standards for safety, accessibility, and regulatory features. This ensures products meet rigorous testing for quality and usability in environments where reliance on the fixture is high.

MyHomeware’s disability tapware is curated to meet these requirements, making it suitable for different environments, whether it’s a private residential bathroom, an aged care facility, or a public bathroom upgrade. Explore our disability tapware solutions.

Tap Accessories: Small Details, Big Impact

Tap Accessories are the functional and aesthetic components that complete your tapware setup. They provide opportunities for easy customisation and functional improvements without replacing the entire unit.

Essential Tapware Solutions

Improving Flow and Customisation

  • Spout Extensions and Aerators: Aerators are small devices fitted to the end of the spout. They infuse air into the water stream, improving flow texture and water efficiency. They are inexpensive to replace and can drastically improve water performance and reduce splash.
  • Handles and Levers: If you love your existing tap body but need to improve access, you can often swap out standard handles for more comfortable or accessible levers. This allows for a fast, affordable upgrade focused purely on enhanced independence and user comfort.
  • Customisation Possibilities: Tap accessories allow users to easily match existing tapware or update the look by swapping components like decorative shrouds or specialized aerators. This extends the life of the primary fixture while keeping the look fresh. Discover our range of tap accessories.

Installation and Care Tips for Your Tapware

Proper installation and routine care ensure your tapware remains functional and looks new for years.

  • Professional vs. DIY Installations: Simple replacements (like changing a basin tap on a pre-drilled basin) can often be handled by a confident DIY renovator. However, professional installation by a licensed plumber is highly recommended for all wall-mounted taps, bath fillers, and disability tapware to ensure correct alignment, waterproofing, and compliance with all Australian standards.
  • Upgrading Over Time: Instead of waiting for a full renovation, consider replacing or enhancing outdated or worn-out tapware for style or functionality improvements. A quick upgrade to a modern matte black basin mixer or a water-efficient shower mixer can instantly transform the space.
  • Routine Cleaning: Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners and soft cloths. Avoid harsh chemicals and scouring pads, especially on matte or specialty finishes, as these can permanently damage the protective coating. Regular wiping prevents the build-up of soap scum and hard water deposits.

Revered world-wide, Danish design is known for its pure forms, timeless simplicity and exceptional craftsmanship, and nowhere is this more beautifully embodied than in the iconic VOLA tap range.

In 1968, VOLA revolutionised the modern tap, drawing inspiration from the original designs of Danish masters, Arne Jacobsen and Verner Overgaard. Today, VOLA continues to be celebrated for its timeless design and recognised by architects and interior designers as a hallmark of quality.

The unique VOLA modular design system offers flexibility with a near-limitless array of product configurations and a choice of bold colours and enduring finishes. Although refinements have been made over the years – focussed solely on enhancing the internal mechanisms to ensure longevity – the product proportions remain faithful to the original designs, guaranteeing
aesthetic consistency.

e&s

Every product is crafted to order in the Danish factory, where time-honoured craftsmanship combines with state-of-the-art engineering to ensure the highest standards of quality and durability. By exclusively utilising premium stainless steel and brass, and prioritising bespoke production over mass manufacturing, meticulous soldering, polishing and thorough individual hand testing is ensured.

One of VOLA’s most venerated products is the Arne Jacobsen-designed KV1 kitchen mixer tap. In fact, it is so iconic that in 1974 it was admitted into the permanent design collection of MoMA in Manhattan, and it is displayed in Copenhagen’s Designmuseum Denmark.

When the KV1 was initially introduced more than five decades ago, it represented a bold departure from traditional design aesthetics. Today, its gentle curves and detailed junctions are still celebrated, as is the effortless way it blends technology with timeless design. The mixer is fitted with ceramic disc technology, an impressive double swivel spout, and a water-saving aerator. It is most commonly found in the kitchen but can also be used for bathrooms and laundry areas.

e&s

Ensuring its design flexibility, the KV1 is available in a truly dazzling array of finishes, from vivid red, blue, green and pink to matt black and a range of marvellous metallics – brushed copper and gold, natural brass, polished chrome and more.

VOLA’s exquisite, hand-finished range is available from e&s, one of Victoria’s oldest family owned specialist kitchen, bathroom and laundry retailers. Known for high-quality appliances and products, as well as impeccable service, e&s has been highly respected within the Australian design industry since the 1960s.

You can peruse the diverse selection of premium products, including the timeless VOLA range, at one of the nine e&s showrooms across Melbourne (Abbotsford, Blackburn, Chadstone, Essendon, Geelong, Hawthorn, Moorabbin, Prahran and Preston) or the ACT showroom (Fyshwick), all of which are open seven days a week.

Turning a drab bathroom into an experiential space is a top priority for many homeowners, and designer Kate Carter certainly delivered on this brief. The transformation of this bathroom highlights the incredible potential of turning a lacklustre space into a stunning sanctuary—an inspiring example of what’s possible with well-planned design.

One of the primary goals for this renovation was to address the lack of storage in the existing bathroom. By incorporating under-vanity joinery and a strategically positioned integrated shelf detail within the Epoque Ivory wall tiles for hair and body wash products, the space was elevated to provide both functionality and style.

Austaron Surfaces

The custom fluted glass shower, framed in black with cross bars, pairs beautifully with the aged brass tapware, while the rich navy tiles add depth and sophistication. This combination is eye-catching during the day and transforms into a serene retreat at night, with soft lighting highlighting the textured surfaces.

Complementing the crisp white window architraves, Staron was chosen for the double vanity, featuring seamlessly integrated Staron basins. Staron not only adds to the bathroom’s visual appeal but also ensures effortless cleaning. Impervious to water, Staron Solid Surfaces is an ideal material for a wide range of applications in bathroom fitouts, offering both durability and elegance.

Austaron Surfaces

Working within the existing footprint, Kate transformed the bathroom from a dull, uninspiring space into a tranquil, elegant sanctuary. The result is a place of escape and relaxation—a true retreat for adults to unwind in style.

Austaron Surfaces

This bathroom was just one of four that were renovated simultaneously. For the master ensuite it was to be cohesive with the rest of the homes interiors but also feel just that little bit elevated compared to the family bathroom. For consistency Kate used the Staron integrated vanity tops and basins, custom stained timber veneer vanity joinery and the fluted glass across the bathrooms.
