Created as the centrepiece of a new build, this kitchen, designed by Studio Minosa in collaboration with Kitchen Culture, balances the quiet rhythm of daily family life with the demands of large-scale entertaining.
Aiming to be the heart of the home, this kitchen anchors the open-plan living zones while maintaining a seamless connection to the outdoor entertaining area, perfect for large gatherings.
The homeowners wanted a highly considered layout with distinct work zones that let multiple people cook, prepare and serve food at the same time. This was achieved through a series of clearly articulated areas, including a central island prep zone, a bar, a dedicated cooking bank and fully integrated refrigeration. The end result is a kitchen that can handle plenty of hands working all at once with ease, ideal for everyday use or high-volume gatherings.
A key design challenge was introducing a dark, modern palette into a large, light-filled space without it feeling heavy or dominant. To do this, the designers carefully selected materials and tones that wouldn’t clash visually. Sublime Teak in a chalk finish and a smokey mirror splashback introduce warmth and reflectivity, while three distinct cabinetry profiles add subtle texture within a restrained colour palette. Additionally, Cosentino Super White honed stone is used consistently across all surfaces, creating a calm, continuous plane that allows the darker joinery to recede.
Concealment plays a central role in maintaining a refined aesthetic, as with all modern kitchens. Integrated panel-ready appliances, hidden storage and a concealed bar and coffee station help the kitchen present as visually clean and uncluttered, despite the huge storage space.
The result is a sophisticated, highly functional kitchen that feels effortless to live in. It’s refined in its detailing, intuitive in its layout and perfectly equipped to handle both everyday moments and large-scale entertaining.
