Evoking the mood of an upmarket hotel bar, this dramatic kitchen by Dezign Kitchens transforms what was once a cold, industrial space into a richly layered showpiece.
The previous design, dominated by dark-grey cabinetry and minimal storage, felt functional but uninspired. The new space is its complete opposite: warm, theatrical and designed to impress.
At first glance, the custom-painted base cabinets set the tone, their striking colour commanding attention. This strength in design is emphasised by the textured woodgrain wall and tall cabinetry, which add depth and tactility, balancing glamour with natural warmth.
The centrepiece – Rosso Francia marble benchtops – bring luxurious movement to the space, with deep veining infusing every surface with energy and a classy feel.
To achieve the sense of refinement the clients desired, flush-mount and integrated appliances were chosen to maintain uninterrupted lines, while metallic detailing, including a bespoke brass-foot rail at the island, adds a layer of polish reminiscent of a high-end hotel bar.
The narrow footprint of the room posed an architectural challenge, but Dezign Kitchens, in collaboration with the client’s brother, Nasau Nodoost, turned this into an opportunity. By incorporating extra-wide drawers and cabinetry, the design cleverly exaggerates the kitchen’s length, creating a sense of openness and flow. The result is an interior that feels as expansive as it does intimate, perfect for both everyday use and entertaining.
This kitchen reimagines luxury for modern living. It’s a space that feels equally at home in a New York loft, a London terrace or a Sydney apartment: timeless yet distinctive, and designed to be admired.
