This kitchen is a true entertainer’s delight. It has real presence in the central part of the home, and leads out to an alfresco dining area on one side and a pool/conservatory on the other. The home in which this kitchen resides is truly spectacular in its presentation and resonance with the Edwardian era, circa 1910.

The original kitchen, being a hub space, required extra storage and some modern elements to facilitate this aspect, so the homeowners decided to renovate. The beautiful flooring was a recent update, so it was imperative to work with the same footprint for preservation. Being in an established Edwardian-era residence, the kitchen had to blend in while still adopting modern cooking features and ample space for appliances like a Thermomix, coffee
machine and instant hot water.

Great care was taken to consider how the homeowners liked to operate within
the kitchen on an everyday basis, and the ideal work-flow plan was achieved. The combination oven, steamer and warming drawer was placed in a separate section to the cooktop, creating two distinct cooking zones — ideal in a busy setting. The granite benchtop was extended in the new design to act as an architrave to the servery windows, the perfect solution to transferring meals out to the alfresco area. Every fitting and element was considered throughout the process to ensure absolute ease of use and a truly functional space.
