Throughout the years, as the homeowner’s family grew, the layout of this kitchen struggled to support busy everyday life, let alone the family’s entertaining needs. The storage was limited, bench space was tight, and the kitchen felt disconnected from the rest of the home.
The brief was clear from the get-go: Create a kitchen designed for hosting that would feel free-f owing, practical and with plenty of storage. They wanted a space that could comfortably support day-to-day family life while also acting as the heart of the home when entertaining.
The first step was choosing the right materials and colour palette to bring the vision to life. The f rst port of call here was the Janper Thompson 5 in Malibu White Satin, used throughout the main cabinetry to keep the space light and timeless.
The island was finished in Fjord Suedette to introduce colour and depth while elsewhere, the Ottoman Grey benchtop in a 40mm prof le aims to ground the design, bringing in cooler undertones.
As mentioned, functionality was a must for the client. This meant maximising drawer storage wherever possible, especially in the island, while careful planning ensured the microwave was concealed within the cabinetry without sacrif cing accessibility. Every element was designed to work hard without disrupting the clean visual lines of the kitchen.
