Phil O’Brien from Designer Kitchens talks about his latest modern, innovative and enduring kitchen design
“We designed the client’s original kitchen some 10 years ago, and as the family has grown and their needs have changed, they approached us to create this new design. The previous kitchen was half the size, so we extended the space to include the area where a deck used to be.
Although the design is modern with lots of clean lines, it’s timeless because of the classic colour palette we selected. The kitchen features loads of benchtop space and storage, as well as an office area to keep mail and other paperwork out of sight. We used Blum’s electronic Servo-Drive system for the wall cabinets, which open to the touch and close with the press of a button. The 60mm thick benchtop is a design feature as it creates visual impact. Drawers are used throughout the kitchen as they are the best option for storage.”
