Representing Australia’s biggest state, Home Base in Perth is also the largest building, renovating, decorating and landscaping centre in the country with more than 350 displays featuring the latest products, ideas and innovations for home building and renovating. Established in Subiaco in 1988, Home Base provides a mind-boggling three levels of permanent displays covering everything from building and construction (new builds and renovations) to design and finishes — there’s even room for trades and services exhibits to give you all the advice you’ll ever need for your project.

Home Base boasts kitchen displays on every one of those levels, as well as design studios demonstrating some of WA’s top kitchen designers and their magnificent, ground-breaking work. Visitors can even meet these designers as well as specialist staff, such as the Caesarstone team (available seven days a week), to run through options just as they can with the highly trained and approachable crew at Home Base.

Whatever your style — from Hamptons and provincial to cutting-edge and contemporary — you will find the inspiration, education and collaborative effort you need to realise it. Bring in your own designer or choose from the brilliant, award-winning designers in-house. Home Base invites you to visit its creative space where you’ll be exposed to trending styles, all of which will inspire you to create your ideal design.

Effortless elegance, carefully prepared: an Adelaide kitchen design

This design is all elegance to the naked eye; the luminous white surface of this Adelaide kitchen design is a simple statement of effortless sophistication

Yet to achieve this look, a great deal of thoughtful planning and preparation was exerted, not to mention the inclusion of extensive cutting-edge mechanics. Cathedral-like elevation is created using overhead electronic cabinetry, extracting all potential storage possibilities. V-groove routing on panels creates a subtle lineal theme enhanced by handle-free hardware, behind which lies a host of creative storage solutions and pull-out systems. The all-white palette is given a sophisticated tweak with feature stonework on the splashback, benchtop and architecturally inspired island. And all clutter is sequestered in the butler’s pantry, which provides an easily accessible yet hidden area to conceal small appliances and store foodstuffs.”
