Equally placed in a modern farmhouse setting as it is in an industrial warehouse, the Cromford collection pays homage to the hard-working innovations of the past. The collection name itself is appropriated from the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution in 18^th-century Great Britain. The Phoenix in-house design team has thoughtfully crafted a collection of tapware, showers and accessories that reflect modern-day sensibilities. Pared back and uncomplicated in design, with a nod to history in their finer detail.

Alexander Tomlinson, Design Engineer at Phoenix, created the distinctive shape of this collection.  “Cromford is all about reserved elegance. It’s subtle and refined but the overall aesthetic hints back to a time when design was extravagant.”

Alex explains where his inspiration from Cromford was derived. “The range was inspired by an old plumbing catalogue I found dating back to the late 1800s. It was filled with hand-drawn sketches of cast iron valves and pipe fittings that featured decorative details. Combining that exquisite fine detailing with precise, uninterrupted geometric forms brought about a unique design language for the range.”

Along with this stand-out design aesthetic, Phoenix has announced that Cromford is pioneering their drive toward Lead Free tapware.  New regulations in Australia mean that all products that are intended for use as an outlet for drinking water, namely tapware and mixers, will transition to Lead Free brass content by September 2025, in the interests of public health. This means that all Mixers, Diverters and Wall Top Assemblies in the Cromford collection conform with the “Lead Free” regulation.

The Cromford collection is SwitchMix® compatible. SwitchMix® allows the consumer to easily select a new design or finish in the future without having to remove or damage tiles, as all the changes are made front-of-wall.
