Once a closed-off, cluttered space with dark corners and outdated finishes, a considered update by the team at KIND Kitchens has given this space a new lease on life.
The kitchen has been dramatically transformed into a modern masterpiece for cooking, entertaining, and everyday family life.
Originally segmented into three zones – including a pantry-like cooking area with open shelving – the old kitchen felt narrow, disjointed and visually heavy. To alter this, the homeowners requested a more open space with improved storage and more cohesive flow with the rest of the home. Importantly, the homeowners wanted to be able to cook and entertain here without being cut off from the rest of the home.
The design and build team took this into consideration, resulting in this thoughtfully designed space that balances clean lines with clever functionality.
To achieve a sleek, contemporary look, the kitchen features handle-less finger-pull doors in Acrilam Moro and Verde Olive Super Matt finishes, plus a warm Polytec Notaio Walnut Ravine finish inside the concealed coffee nook. The Häfele pocket door allows the nook to be tucked away seamlessly, while bifold doors were utilised to make corner cabinets more accessible inside the walk-in pantry.
Design ingenuity is on full display with a curved cabinet concealing the undermount rangehood, and strategically integrated structural columns that have been effortlessly woven into the cabinetry. The Neolith Zimbabwe porcelain benchtops and splashback in a Riverwashed finish offer durability with tactile elegance.
Premium features such as BLUM Servo-Drive for the rubbish bin, BLUM Tandembox drawers, a pull-out SIGE pantry and integrated dishwashers make the space both beautiful and highly practical.
This renovation has brought to life a harmonious, open-plan kitchen and pantry. The new space meets the homeowners’ aesthetic vision and functional needs perfectly, proving that thoughtful design can completely reinvent how a space is used and enjoyed.
