This durable Danish furniture puts the ‘great’ in great outdoors

Danish furniture designer Henrik Pedersen’s work is woven with influences from his homeland, and the new Kay outdoor lounge and dining collection is no exception

Previous collections Henrik designed for Gloster, such as the Bay and Sway, demonstrate a distinct nod to mid-century Danish furniture design and its exquisite timber craftsmanship, with bold lines and rounded edges.

The Kay collection combines a durable colourful weave with a timeless teak frame, defined by a striking curved backrest and hint of nostalgia. The primary focus was to combine weatherproof and durable materials to create a seating and dining collection that’s not only extremely comfortable but also highly welcoming.

The broad curved backrest is the defining statement of the designs. Deliberately oversized and beautifully curved for comfort, Kay hugs you as you sit, providing both comfort and shelter. The synthetic, all-weather wicker is available in a series of earthy colours — Brindle, Harvest or a ‘French cane’ Copper colour, with dining chairs, lounge chairs with a high or low back, sofas, ottomans and, our favourite, a rocking chair with a high or low back. Create an eclectic look by mixing or matching the high and low back panel configurations. There will also be a great fit for everyone in the group!

The Kay range’s cushions are made to order in the Cosh Living Melbourne workshop from a large range of durable outdoor fabrics, meaning you’ll be able to choose a colour that best complements your style and space.

The dining chairs’ practical high back, beautiful timber arms and generous seat size enable you to sit in them comfortably for long meals with friends.

A perfect complement to the Kay range, the Blow coffee and side tables welcome sophisticated glazes in subtle hues to your outdoor living zone. The soft lines and natural tones of these beautifully rounded ceramic bases combine perfectly with buffed teak table tops. Eye-catching and inspiring, these accent pieces beautifully reflect the light across their soft, round surfaces while adding character to any outdoor living space. The striking glazed ceramic bases are available in Coffee, Emerald or Smoke colours to meld perfectly with their natural surrounds.
