Seaside elegance meets modern design
This stately infinity-edge pool brings beauty and function to a sloping coastal block, transforming the outdoor space into a year-round haven.
Set on the Mornington Peninsula in the quaint suburb of Safety Beach, this custom-designed pool by Coastal Pools and Spas redefines modern luxury in outdoor living. Positioned on a sloping block, the project maximises the available space by creating a terraced approach that offers not only functionality, but also a striking visual impact.
The owners, a family of passionate entertainers, wanted a pool that could be enjoyed by all family members while making a bold statement, even when not in use. Their vision was realised through the creation of a rectangular 11x4m above-ground pool, equipped with a full-length horizon edge that enhances the overall aesthetic of their home. The pool was equipped with smart phone automation, ensuring easy control of its functions, adding a touch of modern convenience to the family’s outdoor lifestyle.
In addition to its striking design, the pool features premium finishes, including Carrara tiles from The Pool Tile Company and a stylish Coconut Drift paving surround. The heating system is a combination of gas and solar, ensuring the pool can be enjoyed in all seasons. The cleaning system, PCC2000, provides easy maintenance, while Spa Electrics lighting illuminates the pool, creating a soft and inviting glow in the evening.
Despite the challenges presented by the harsh winter of 2021, the team at Coastal Pools and Spas pushed forward with determination. The sloping site and ongoing holdups from the relentless rain made the construction process a bit trickier than expected, but with perseverance and careful planning, the result speaks for itself.
Coastal Pools and Spas designed not only the pool, but also the surrounding pool house and alfresco area, creating a complete outdoor oasis. The landscaping further enhances the beauty of the space, with carefully chosen plants that complement the modern design and coastal feel of the property.
This project is a true reflection of the principles of good design: functionality, beauty, and seamless integration with the environment. The clean lines of the pool, coupled with its innovative features, make this space not only an eye-catching addition to the home, but also an oasis for the family to enjoy for years to come.
