Set on a sprawling half-acre property in Narre Warren North, this striking custom pool by Swimmore Pools is far more than a place to swim. Designed as a year-round visual centrepiece, the pool has been thoughtfully integrated with the home’s architecture so it can be admired from almost every angle, indoors and out.
From the moment you step inside the house, the water draws you in. Wrapping seamlessly around the lap pool zone, the design blurs the boundary between the home and the outdoors, creating a sense of connection, calm and luxury at every time of day — from crisp mornings to glowing evenings under lights.
Designed by Amanda Hebdige, the pool brings together several distinct zones into one cohesive, highly functional space. At its heart is a sleek rectangular lap pool, purpose-built for fitness and movement, while a generous raised spa with a curved edge delivers a sculptural focal point and social hub. The spa overflows on all sides, creating a constant, soothing water display that enhances both the visual impact and the sensory experience.
A relaxed beach entry provides a shallow lounging area, a sun-soaked retreat perfect for unwinding, while a family-friendly swimming zone ensures everyone has their own place to enjoy the water. The result is a multi-use pool that feels effortless, yet is technically impressive in its execution.
One of the most captivating features of the project is the dramatic waterfall blade, which spills from the roofline of the house directly into the lap pool below. This architectural water feature reinforces the strong connection between home and pool, transforming the water into a moving design element rather than a separate addition.
Glass mosaic tiles elevate the spa, steps and beach entry, catching the light beautifully and adding texture and refinement. At night, Spa Electrics Quantum multi-colour lighting brings the pool to life, allowing the mood to shift effortlessly from tranquil to vibrant depending on the occasion.
The homeowners, a family with two teenage boys, were deeply involved in shaping the final design, with each family member contributing ideas. Fitness, relaxation and entertaining were all equally important, and the pool needed to accommodate them all without compromise.
The lap pool caters to the teenagers’ love of training and exercise, while the expansive raised spa was deliberately sized to host large gatherings of family and friends. Meanwhile, the beach area offers a quieter zone for rest and relaxation — proof that good design considers how people actually live.
Behind the scenes, the pool is equipped with solar and gas heating, ensuring comfort throughout the seasons, along with Astral Viron filtration, Viron Connect 10 automation system, and Paramount PV3 in-floor cleaning for efficiency and ease of maintenance. These systems not only enhance performance, but also reduce ongoing energy and water usage — an important consideration for modern pool owners.
