The moment you step into Fresh Kitchen Solutions’ showroom, this kitchen sets the tone.

Designed as the first visual touchpoint, it’s a confident introduction to their signature style: refined, functional and rich in detail. Created as a full-scale display, the kitchen showcases the level of craftsmanship and thoughtful design Fresh Kitchen Solutions brings to every renovation project they’re tasked with.

Working within a warehouse-style space presented unique challenges, most notably the inability to install pendant lighting over the island. Rather than compromise, the design team leaned into the architecture, introducing an open timber feature that frames the island and defines the space. This sculptural element adds visual interest, draws the eye forward and creates a sense of depth that invites you in.

Fresh Kitchen Solutions

A modern meets traditional aesthetic underpins the design. The two-pack satin picture frame doors add subtle shadow lines and dimension, while Polytec Woodmatt Hazel Oak introduces a natural, tactile contrast. Reeded glass inserts in the display cabinetry soften the vertical scale and add layers of visual interest, especially when paired with the 3m-high cabinetry and feature rangehood box.

Cosentino Sensa Vancouver Natural Quartzite has been used seamlessly across benchtops and splashbacks, delivering a cohesive and timeless finish. Its natural movement elevates the space without overwhelming it. Momo Otto brass handles punctuate the cabinetry with warmth and a touch of understated luxury.

The island, positioned as the hero on entry, is designed to feel substantial yet welcoming. Timber legs, framed detailing and battened open shelving give it presence, texture and warmth, proving that practical design can still make a bold statement. This display kitchen is a clear refection of how Fresh Kitchen Solutions balances beauty, innovation and everyday usability for their clients.

When building a brand-new kitchen, imagination often takes flight and presents many possibilities. But you don’t need all the bells and whistles to make a beautiful kitchen, and this stunning project by Fresh Kitchen Solutions is testament to that.

The clients had a very clear vision for the kitchen: keep the space practical and organised, with a balance of design decorations for a touch of style. A paper towel holder, a place for utensils and a butcher’s block were high priorities.

Filled with a crisp white colour that invites natural light and space, the palette is balanced with the natural wood hues from the timber that provides a subtle bold feel. As you walk around the space, you’ll immediately notice that practicality is celebrated front and centre in this new design.

Fresh Kitchen Solutions

The profile of the Shaker door style is simple and elegant, allowing for a variety of mouldings and handles. Meanwhile, the mirror inserts in the display cabinet give the look of glass cabinets to break up the white, as well as providing extra storage to keep the space clean. The butcher’s block extends the length of the benchtop. Its darker tabletop contrasts perfectly with the white space while being a versatile addition to the kitchen. Use it as display or utilise its storage below.

The overall layout of the space highlights how a little design consideration makes a world of difference and convenience. The paper towel holder is placed alongside the sink and above the pull-out bins, allowing for easy use and disposal thereafter. The pull-out utensil holders are situated alongside the cooking zone, reducing the need for movement during cooking. The microwave is placed on the end of the island facing the pantry, creating easy access for the client but still being completely out of sight.

It’s this impeccable attention to detail that shows when it comes to a new kitchen design, the best ones are those that perfectly fuse classic style and practicality into one.

Gloriously traditional, with all the features you need in a modern kitchen, this fully renovated space gives its owners the classic style they wanted combined with ample space.

Having not been updated since it was originally built, the kitchen in this home showed all the hallmarks of an arched profile typical of its time period. Prior to its overhaul, the homeowners had removed the old laundry that ran directly off the kitchen, opening up the space and bringing in more natural light through the addition of a window and new French doors leading out to the backyard.

In a canny move by designer Emma Pearce of Fresh Kitchens Solutions, a new laundry was created using an existing storage room located behind the kitchen, which could only be accessed from outside. Cleverly hidden behind matching cabinetry doors that make the entrance look like part of the kitchen, the new internal opening between these two spaces gives the owners a flexible laundry space and additional pantry storage within easy reach.

Fresh Kitchen Solutions

Opening up the space by removing the original laundry room not only brought in more light, but also expanded the room to allow for extensive cabinetry and more functional bench space in the new kitchen design.

A statement rangehood of milled timber, inset panels and decorative corbels pulls focus, drawing the eye to the back of the kitchen where tiling that flows to the ceiling brings in a soft splash of colour. The same decorative timber elements can be found on the kitchen island, tying the traditional design together. Shaker-style cabinetry running the perimeter of the kitchen offers floor-to-ceiling shelving and plenty of deep drawers to house every culinary need.

Keeping the sightlines of the kitchen unmarred, the designer chose to place the oven in the island, hidden from sight but conveniently placed opposite the cooktop. In keeping with this theme, the island top remains free of insertions to ensure an uninterrupted surface that serves as both an entertaining zone and a usable area for food prep.

Light and bright with a wholesome and traditional air, this elegantly appointed kitchen with hidden laundry and butler’s pantry is perfectly functional and a visual delight that will serve the owners well for years to come.

This formerly tucked-away kitchen is now truly the heart of the home. And rightly so; it is aesthetically pleasing, endlessly functional, and truly deserving of its newfound prime positioning.

The Heart of the Home with Fresh Kitchen Solutions. This renovation was completed by Fresh Kitchen Solutions in line with the homeowners’ request for an open space with a modern take on the traditional. The kitchen oozes aesthetic appeal thanks to its Shaker-style cabinetry, Calacatta benchtops and splashbacks, and Castella walnut and brass handles.

Creating the Heart of the Home with Fresh Kitchen Solutions

The island is truly the room’s hero and it includes a very clever feature – a hidden seating zone with barstools, which cannot be seen from most of the open-plan living area. This well-thought-out addition ensures the homeowners have an area to sit while prepping dinners or eating casual meals, while maintaining the island’s furniture-like appearance.

Creating the Heart of the Home with Fresh Kitchen Solutions

The enclosed space in which the previous kitchen stood is now a walk-around pantry. It features extra bench space, an extra sink, and a dishwasher to ensure all messes are kept out of sight and the main kitchen remains tidy at all times. Plenty of storage is integrated throughout, with a Blum three-drawer system in particular enhancing the space’s functionality.

Creating the Heart of the Home with Fresh Kitchen Solutions

Wrap-around cabinetry now flows all the way to the ceiling, allowing for extra storage while also drawing the eye away from the change in ceiling level in that section of the space. As far as contemporary kitchens go, this one ticks all the boxes.

Modern Kitchen Design Blending Functionality and Style in a 1930s Abode https://www.completehome.com.au/kitchens/modern-kitchen-design.html Wed, 05 Apr 2023 07:01:45 +0000 https://www.completehome.com.au/?p=73495 This modern kitchen design is located at the back of the new extension. This beautiful kitchen is located at the back of the dwelling’s new extension. Looking over the living and dining areas, with the backyard just below, the kitchen is truly the hub of the house.

The homeowners requested a sleek, modern kitchen design that would blend seamlessly into their 1930s abode.

This influences many of the design choices the team at Fresh Kitchen Solutions made, including the colour scheme and the materials and textures that appear throughout.
Horizontal and vertical lines were integrated as a tool to create a sense of balance in the space. The join lines between cabinetry run vertically through both deep and recessed overheads, down to the sets of drawers and freestanding cooker below. There is also the horizontal line of overheads that wrap the kitchen’s three walls.

Fresh Kitchen Solutions

The Blum AVENTOS HK system was chosen for the overheads to create a long horizontal look that complements the drawers below. A deep-tone timber-grain finish was chosen for the overheads to draw the eye through the kitchen. This is a stark contrast to the crisp white features throughout the room, as well as the stone benchtop that extends up the wall as a splashback.

Kitchen Design

This kitchen’s walk-in pantry is truly impressive. It is accessed through two cabinetry doors, which can be closed to hide the mess as needed. The pantry features the homeowners’ secondary cooking appliances, a sink and a dishwasher, and storage space for food that needs to be prepped for meals, which means the main kitchen can be kept clean and tidy at all times. All snack foods are kept in the storage solutions in the main kitchen, so the homeowners do not need to access the pantry other than to prepare meals.

A great deal of thought has been put into every zone in this modern kitchen design to ensure it will service the homeowners’ needs now and well into the future.
