The Reno + Design Show is the most recent local event to officially announce their postponement

Brisbane Renovation + Design Event Postponed

The team behind the much-anticipated Brisbane Reno + Design Show have sadly postponed their upcoming April event due to increasing Coronavirus concerns.

Upon deciding that the risk to public health from hosting a major event in this difficult time is unjustifiably high, the design and renovation event has been moved to the new date of August 29-30, 2020.

This decision came just hours before the official statement from the Australian Government advising against mass gatherings was made.

“We know that the health and wellbeing of our community is of paramount importance,” said event director, Renee Watson. “Our thoughts are with all of those who have sadly been affected by the illness.”

Interior addicts, design devotees and those with the home reno bug will be spoilt for choice when over 100 designers, architects, stylists, home builders, trades, product suppliers and special guests from around the country come together for the second annual Reno + Design Show, this time for the new dates of August 29-30, 2020.

Over the two new days, visitors will have the chance to talk face-to-face with exhibitors, gain practical experience at interactive workshops and styling sessions, and learn more about home renovation and design through panel discussions and Q&A events with a who’s who of design gurus.

Competition prizes will now be valid for the new dates of 29-30 August, 2020.

Inspired by the style and culture of cities around the world, Porter Davis launched its new interior design playground last night – World of Style. The interactive design hub is a holistic design space housed in an impressive 2000sqm red brick building in South Melbourne. The space aims to help individuals looking to build a new home discover their style preferences and get hands-on with a range of innovative concepts.

The evening came to life with plenty of industry professionals enjoying live entertainment, interactive displays and festive foods.

Every area of the home has been carefully catered to from kitchens and bathrooms through to lighting and alfresco areas. Each display area bleeds into the next immersing it’s guests into the world of design.

Porter Davis Director Paul Wolff said World of Style offers an experience that has not been seen in the industry. “The belief behind World of Style is that people’s homes are the ultimate expression of who they are and this experience has been created to enhance that expression.”

“World of Style is designed to engage your senses, excite you with the possibilities and make design easy and enjoyable with real-time quotes and plenty of ideas to explore. This is your opportunity to surround yourself in interior design – a place where you can touch it, see it, feel it and live it.”

The space is the first of its kind, as Porter Davis revolutionises the display center experience now appropriately naming them “Welcome Centres”. The aim is to provide the public with an environment where inspiration comes without a pushy price tag but rather as a journey of personal style discovery.

Each center will offer hosts rather than sales staff to guide pursuers, and offer complimentary barista made coffee as well as barbeques on the weekends.

World of Style will be open to the public from Saturday August 9, 410 City Road South Melbourne.
