Whether getting ready in front of the mirror or looking to brush your teeth after a shower, mirror condensation can be an inconvenience at the best of times. However, electric mirror heaters provide the perfect solution, using a heated backing to leave your mirror crystal clear even after a steamy shower.

How does it work?

Electric mirror heaters integrate seamlessly with any standard mirror installation. Consisting of a thin heating element, an electrician simply applies the pad as backing before the mirror is mounted to the wall. A mirror heat pad can be fitted to most sizes of mirror and is linked to a standard on/off switch.

How hot does a mirror heat pad get?

A mirror heat pad will generally heat to around 30 degrees; hot enough to eliminate surface condensation but not too hot!

The owners wanted their new bathroom to be a place where they could retreat at the end of a long day and escape the world — a haven where time stands still and nothing matters except relaxation and pampering. With a large ensuite space to place a dreamy bathroom, Designer Kitchens in conjunction with Leigh Boswell and Michele Kordic set to work making the owners’ wish come true.
This luxurious bathing area was named winner of the Bathroom Project over $40,000 category and also the top honour, Bathroom Project of the Year, at the 2010 HIA-CSR Queensland Housing Awards. As you can see, it’s truly worthy of the praise.
The first thing you notice when you step into the room is the large, freestanding Villeroy & Boch Aveo bath. While the bath was to become centrepiece of the entire design, it was essential that movement was not inhibited around it. Access to the shower and preparation area is free-flowing and plenty of storage has been incorporated to ensure the space is used to best advantage.
Beautiful natural marble was chosen for the floor and walls. These create a sense of opulence and indulgence perfect for the theme of the room. The feature mosaics are an extraordinary addition, providing another focal point from within the bath and adding character to the scene.
High-quality fittings were used throughout the bathroom. To keep the room looking as seamless as possible, a wall-hung toilet was installed. Specialty lighting was positioned above the mirror cabinets, creating the perfect area to get ready for work or a night out on the town.
For the ultimate in relaxation, a flat-screen television sits on the wall so the owners can enjoy it while soaking in the tub. With such a decadent yet practical bathroom, the owners are sure to be spending much downtime reviving here.

“The brief was to stay within the original footprint of the rooms, so space was at a premium and all design considerations needed to revolve around breathing a fresh, contemporary, and especially spacious feel to the finished products. We were also tasked with creating high-quality bathrooms consistent with the character of the house using sound but middle-of-the-range products and fittings.

The results speak for themselves: the pale palette of the walls and streamlined fixtures create a clean, spacious look, while opulent floor tiles evoke a touch of oriental bathhouse luxury. The modular mirrors, which reach to the corners, lend an added impression of space and a focal point around which the whole design revolves.”
