]]>Brushed nickel is the stylish new alternative to chrome — and it looks good. This interesting finish brings a modern warmth to your bathroom without being too “out there” — it goes with almost everything and won’t date like some of the more dramatic coloured tapware trends.
The Oliveri brushed nickel finish is achieved through a premium physical vapour deposition (PVD) method, which means the colour is not painted on. Instead, the metal takes on the colour itself, meaning it won’t fade or scratch off. It also looks, cleans and wears better than finishes such as chrome. With brushed nickel, your days of polishing the tapware are over.
Oliveri offers a full range of showers, tapware and accessories for your bathroom, available in the company’s premium brushed nickel finish so you can achieve a consistent look. Ask for Oliveri at your local plumbing showroom.

]]>That means you want a sink from a quality manufacturer such as Oliveri. With more than 70 years in business, this industry expert has explored many different design trends, ensuring there’s something in its range to suit your needs. Whether you’re after large capacity bowls, single or double drainers, single or double bowls or under- or top-mount sinks, they have it and in premium 304 grade 18/10 stainless steel. What does that mean in layman’s terms? It’s tough. It’s quality. That’s probably why Oliveri backs it with a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty.
You can even choose from a range of custom-made accessories that turn your sink into a food preparation centre to truly maximise your sink’s potential. Style, quality and practicality aside, there’s another reason to choose Oliveri: it is made in Australia. The company has produced a range of kitchen sinks and laundry tubs from its Adelaide factory for 70 years, making it a real homegrown success story. And when so many other companies have shut up shop to manufacture overseas, this is a huge achievement. It’s just one more reason to think Oliveri when you want everything plus the kitchen sink.

]]>If any scratches do appear, you can polish out the marks with a cloth and a bit of elbow grease. Heat- and stain-resistant, the sinks are easy to clean and difficult to damage.
Sinks are widely considered to be the new focal point of the kitchen, so make the ultimate statement in your space with a Santorini black or matt-white granite sink. Colour-match it with your stone benchtop or use contrasting colours for a striking look.
A wide range of configurations ensures you’ll find the right size for your kitchen. Made in Italy for the Australian home, these sinks are 80 per cent granite and naturally antibacterial to remove bad smells and pollutants in the kitchen. The other 20 per cent is resin and quartz; the resin sets the shape while the quartz adds a slight sparkle.
These rock-solid products come with a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty for peace of mind, and are available for purchase from leading electrical and plumbing retailers.

]]>Your house should be a reflection of your style, and there’s nothing better than coming home to a space that is truly yours. Working with Melbourne-based American interior architectural firm Toni Franchi Design, the husband and wife who call this unique space home created a design that is opulent, stylish, and a reflection of who they are.
Toni was tasked with revamping the kitchen and living areas, which are generally considered the most important spaces within the home. Serving as the centrepiece of the design, the kitchen combines Talostone=QUOTE= Statuario veined marble to create a signature look that’s modernised with stainless-steel accents. Duropal timber cabinetry in Walnut Lyon brings warmth into the kitchen, contrasting with the richness of the marble benchtop. “These finishes were chosen to work as beautiful display furnishings facing the family room,” says Toni.
–
Due to the open nature of the design, kitchen appliances were selected for their chic look and quietness. A Fisher & Paykel Paris oven, Siemens cooktop and semi-integrated dishwashers, soft-close hardware and Oliveri stainless-steel sinks harmonise beautifully.
The formal dining is steps away from the kitchen, which offers plenty of room for friends and family to enjoy meals together. Within the lounge and formal dining spaces, a mostly neutral palette is used, with metallic accents adding glamour. “The formal dining and lounge rooms are bracketed between the elegant neutral and metallic elements of the Real Flame fireplace, Eiffel coffee table, silk drapes and oval chrome pendant studded with crystals,”
says Toni.
The end result is a space that ups the ante when it comes to luxury and glamour. “I love working collaboratively with my clients to co-create a modern look that fits the owners’ personalities and style of the home to create a unique
tailored design.”

]]>Shay and Dean switched their penthouse kitchen and living rooms, creating a bright, neutral and contemporary kitchen design.
The modern colour palette is an on-trend blend of black, white and timber grain with copper accents, featuring contrasting benchtops in Blanco Orion on the island — angled to the shape of the room — and Cemento Spa with a suede finish on the back bench. The mirrored splashback and vertical garden cleverly bring the outdoors in, with the eat-in area making the most of the city views.
–
Created for the entertainer and foodie, this kitchen will excite home chefs with its array of DeLonghi appliances, including dual ovens, integrated coffee machine and two dishwashers.
–
The gold Oliveri sink is a statement on its own, while the hidden butler’s pantry completes the design by doubling as storage for small appliances as well as a preparation area. Additional storage solutions, such as a pull-out pantry and LeMans corner carousel, make organisation in this kitchen a breeze.
The penthouse glamour continues in the nearby laundry with a 20mm Silestone benchtop, black-glass splashback, artistically angled white subway tiles and stylish black fittings.

]]>“As this project was part of a new build, the clients wanted their kitchen to blend with the ‘new modern’ feel throughout their home. Functionality and practicality were also a must, with clever storage and effective use of space other important design considerations.
We were able to create a stunning, modern kitchen using glossy cabinetry softened by timber-look Laminex and timber flooring. The handleless design on the upper cabinets and sleek stainless-steel handles on the lower cabinets and drawers also complement the modern style of the home.
The island bench was made a feature with an elegant mitred stone benchtop and waterfall ends, mixed with a stacked-stone panel and feature strip lighting underneath the bench. It’s a focal point that’s the perfect place for entertaining and informal meals. Not only have the benches been raised to accommodate the owners, but ample bench space means this kitchen can accommodate a family.
Another great feature within modern homes to satisfy Australia’s love of outdoor entertaining is the use of bifold windows opening out to a servery and bar, which we have installed here, while also extending the benchtop outside. To meet the clients’ storage needs, we’ve included an abundance of cupboards and drawers to maximise space.
A Lazy Susan makes the most of corner cupboards and touch-to-open cabinets, pull-out bins and oil racks ensure the essentials are easily accessible. Ultra-modern appliances and accessories are the ideal finishing touch to this contemporary, indoor/outdoor entertainer.”

]]>“This kitchen renovation was designed to fit within an old farmhouse — which had been passed down from generation to generation — while still giving the homeowner a modern way of life. Each generation has made its mark on the house and the owner wanted to remodel the kitchen with a walk-in pantry to evoke a modern interpretation of farmhouse style. We designed the space to be made of materials that were easy to maintain, but would still have a high visual impact.
The white colour palette of the space is light and refreshing and gives the room a spacious feel. A new glass window and door were installed to bring in natural light, while extensive cabinetry and a walk-in pantry provide effective storage. The owner now loves coming home after a long day out on the farm to spend time in this beautiful and relaxing space, which is now the well-loved heart of the home.”
