The original space featured a compact layout with a timber servery, limiting both functionality and connection to the surrounding living areas. Acknowledging they’ve outgrown the space, the homeowners approached Powney & Powney Supreme Kitchens requesting a contemporary yet timeless kitchen that embraced natural materials, earthy tones and a refined simplicity.

At the centre of the design is the striking island bench, finished in Taj Mahal Honed Quartzite. The sculptural marble detailing flows seamlessly into the matching splashback, introducing softness and elegance while enhancing movement throughout the space. This carefully considered feature improves the natural circulation between the kitchen, dining and outdoor entertaining areas.

Integrated appliances, including the fridge and dishwasher, help maintain the clean lines and minimalistic aesthetic requested by the homeowners. Meanwhile extensive storage solutions ensure the kitchen remains practical for everyday use. Above the cabinetry, a custom planter box introduces greenery and creates a subtle connection between the kitchen and living zones.

The overall palette of warm timber finishes and natural stone was selected to evoke a sense of calm and groundedness, resulting in a welcoming environment that feels both contemporary and enduring. The result is a warm, inviting space ideal for modern family living and effortless entertaining.
