Before the renovation, the homeowners were upset with how much the kitchen felt disconnected from the rest of the dwelling. It also lacked character and did not maximise the available space. Wall cabinetry dominated the kitchen without delivering any true functionality, while the windows that were there didn’t let in enough natural light. The kitchen felt separate from the rest of the home and it needed change.

While the owners arrived with magazine-inspired ideas, the initial concept wouldn’t have translated successfully into the existing footprint. Rather than turning them around or trying to squeeze in a design that didn’t work for the space, Premier Kitchens, led by designer Maxsense Maximus, reframed the brief to achieve all that the consumer wanted in the available space.

Premier Kitchen

The design centres on achieving visual harmony from every viewing angle, with careful attention to proportion, theme, colour relationships and detailing. Space constraints were treated as opportunities for refinement rather than limitations. A subtle, feminine design language guides the material and hardware choices, introducing sensuality and warmth without sacrificing performance. Handles were approached like jewellery – tactile, elegant and complementary – enhancing the composition without overpowering it.

Natural light was treated as a core design material, with finishes selected for how they respond to shifting daylight and shadow. Artificial lighting was layered to support mood and clarity after dark, while material choices also help soften acoustics and reduce echo.

Premier Kitchen

The completed kitchen pairs clean lines, integrated appliances and balanced cabinetry proportions with deeply practical planning. Function leads every decision, but the outcome engages all the senses – visually rich stonework, soft-touch hardware, and quiet-closing mechanisms included.

Guided by a less-is-more philosophy, the result is a kitchen designed to feel as good as it looks and to age gracefully over time.

Design response

Objective

Renovate the kitchen to feel like a part of the house, not a separate add-on as it was in the old design.

Solution

With plenty of open space, this light-fi lled kitchen becomes a hub of the home for the owners to enjoy

This space was once an awkward, disjointed kitchen split into two separate rooms. But, thanks to the talented team at Premier Kitchens, it’s now been transformed into a breathtaking centrepiece in this Pittwater home.

The homeowners approached Premier Kitchens with a clear brief. They wanted to open up the space, raise the ceiling, and bring the kitchen back into one cohesive room. They also wanted the joinery throughout the home, including the bedroom, laundry and bathroom, to echo the kitchen’s style for a consistent, considered look.

Premier Kitchen

A striking bespoke rangehood cover is right at the heart of this redesign. It features ribbed detailing that is beautifully echoed in the cabinetry surrounding the wine fridges. The cabinetry was taken to extra height to enhance the room’s scale, and topped with fluted-glass display cabinets – a refined nod to the rangehood’s sculptural form.

Honed Calacatta marble benchtops and splashbacks elevate the kitchen with their luxurious texture and distinctive edge profile. The deep, moody tones of Porter’s Paints Black Cockatoo enrich the cabinetry, while black internal carcasses offer a sleek, cohesive finish.

How to unify the “bar” and main kitchen zones without confusing their purpose was a main design consideration for this project. The team ultimately achieved this through clever zoning and custom detailing, ensuring each area is functional yet stylistically seamless.

The result is a kitchen that improves flow and usability while celebrating its surroundings. Expansive sightlines draw the eye out to the stunning Pittwater views, allowing the kitchen to feel deeply connected to its environment and the overall home.

In this challenging renovation, Premier Kitchens was given the difficult task of bringing a Mosman kitchen forward by four decades, bringing it in line with the rest of the home’s interior updates. Although the kitchen was beautifully preserved, it needed a serious upgrade and change to the structural layout of the space.

The first step was to swap out an existing kitchen table in order to include a sizeable island where the entire family – including children and grandchildren – could gather while still being a workable space. Premier Kitchens achieved this by installing a multi-level Guilia marble table, offering a space for eating and working as well as storage.

Premier Kitchen

The same stunning Guilia marble was also used to form the perimeter counters and partial splashback, creating a dramatic design statement that is both modern and in keeping with the heritage elegance of the home.

An additional period touch comes in the form of the reeded glass window that serves as the splashback behind the cooktop. Pairing nicely with the marble, the glass allows additional light to flow through and brings in more of the greenery from outside.

Premier Kitchen

While the room isn’t considered open plan in the modern sense, the reeded glass splashback paired with large windows overlooking the lush garden give the space plenty of breathing room. No matter the time of year, this light-filled arena will provide the family with a sense of warmth, making it a pleasant space to come together.

Design response

Objective

To update the kitchen to ensure it matches the rest of the home’s upgrades while also providing more gathering space and storage.

Solution

The addition of an island with a multilayered counter provided the required space as well as storage, while the marble material selection helped to achieve the upgraded look the clients wanted.

For this ever-growing family, the kitchen had long been the heart of the home. Although the existing kitchen was in good condition, it was dated and lacked the functionality needed for hosting family gatherings, especially with grandchildren now in the mix. Enter Premier Kitchens, who transformed the space into a luxe yet practical showpiece designed for real life.

While the kitchen had a generous footprint, its layout was inefficient. A key design move – relocating the entrance to the laundry – proved to be a game-changer. This allowed the removal of an awkward corner, leading to a more streamlined and functional layout.

Premier Kitchen

Aesthetically, the kitchen now exudes quiet sophistication. A stunning natural stone benchtop sets the tone, with elegant curves in both the island and splashback creating a soft, contemporary look.

Thoughtful touches such as timber panelling, a sculptural wall sconce, and a bench return for casual seating elevate the space while enhancing its practicality.

Behind the beauty is serious functionality. Upgraded appliances, smarter storage, and improved flow between the kitchen and laundry have made daily life easier and more efficient for the owners.

A considered balance between designer appeal and functionality for daily family life, there’s no doubt this kitchen will stay beloved for years to come.

Design & Build: Premier Kitchens

This room was once a closed-off 1970s kitchen-diner combo, with cramped bench space and limited storage. It’s now been completely transformed by Premier Kitchens into a breathtaking, modern culinary hub with a sophisticated edge. Designed with food, family and entertaining at its heart, this renovation blends functionality with timeless elegance.

The homeowners were after a space that went far beyond cooking – a place where conversation flows as easily as the morning coffee. Premier Kitchens brought this vision to life with a reimagined open-plan layout, featuring a striking marble backdrop and a beautifully curved island that anchors the room both visually and practically. This central island serves not only as a food prep area, but also a casual dining and relaxation zone, thanks to thoughtfully integrated seating.

Premier Kitchen

Design details shine throughout, from the bespoke curved rangehood and soft archway leading to the pantry to the cleverly placed appliance cabinets that keep clutter at bay, allowing the open-plan space to breathe. A banquette seat under a lower window makes smart use of existing architecture while adding a cosy, cafe-style nook for enjoying a well-deserved cup of tea.

Functionality was key in this reno. The new layout ensures seamless flow from pantry to coffee bench, and the island’s positioning allows the cook to remain part of the action while entertaining guests.

Premier Kitchen

With its perfect blend of classic materials and contemporary curves, this Premier Kitchens renovation delivers a kitchen that is as inviting as it is practical – a true centrepiece for modern living.

Struggling with limited bench space and inadequate storage, the homeowners of this small and outdated kitchen were looking for something that more accurately reflected the grand proportions of their family home. Turning to Premier Kitchens for help, the owners requested a new kitchen design that would raise the aesthetic and functional level of the room to meet the rest of the house.

Choosing a bold, high-contrast colour palette of black and white, the design for the new kitchen included matt black cabinetry with a slimline shaker-style profile that gives it an element of modern glam. This contemporary touch ties in nicely with the steel framed and gridded sliding doors that stand between the kitchen and the outdoor space, creating a synergistic connection between the spaces.

However, it is perhaps the stone that truly makes this kitchen a standout. Large slabs of Paonazzo marble cover the long kitchen island, the back counter and the splashback. A small shelf of the same creamy marble also runs across the top of the splashback, creating an architectural shelf that is highlighted by integrated LED strip lighting. Rich, creamy and alive with strongly defined veining in black and brown hues, the Paonazzo marble elevates this kitchen from luscious to artform.

Integrated appliances ensure a sophisticated front across all the cabinetry in the culinary zone, while undermount sinks and a sleek inset induction cooktop keep the clean lines flowing across the counters.

Another standout in the space is the bespoke curved rangehood perched above the cooktop. Crafted of Navurban Elements™ Abstract Bronze, this cutting-edge surface technology offers a textural counterpoint to the silky surfaces that make up this kitchen. Its bronzed metallic finish adds a touch of warmth to the room and ties in nicely with the earthy hues dusting the marble.

Working with a sophisticated material selection, a timeless colour palette and a few architectural ‘wow’ moments, Premier Kitchens was able to lift the aesthetic appeal of this kitchen to maximum impact and give these owners the functionality it needed and the cohesive design they desired.

Design response

Objective

Increase the counter space and storage capacity while also raising the design quality of the room

Solution

Choosing a timeless and sophisticated design that utilised high-end materials that would stand the test of time proved a strategic move in achieving the design objectives of this project

The design team was thrilled to be approached to design this kitchen, located in a brand new addition to the back of the home. There are so many benefits to starting with a clean slate, with the chance to be ultra creative being one of the most exciting. The team took the time to consider the family’s needs, and figure out the new space’s strengths, before designing this stellar culinary space.

Though the rest of the home is more period-style, this new extension featured modern architecture. This paved the way for a modern kitchen with clean lines, and a nice mix of moody materials and warm timber accents.

Premier Kitchen

The homeowner requested plentiful storage, so the team worked cabinetry, modern drawers and open shelving wherever possible. They were also after a functional kitchen, as they loved to cook and entertain guests. So, high-end modern appliances, including a sleek integrated fridge, were chosen for the space. The natural light that enters the room via the upper windows and window splashback ensures the room is bright and well-lit during the day. And at night, the feature pendant lights strategically placed over the island can be lit when cooking for and hosting dinner parties.

Premier Kitchen

The kitchen is well connected with the home’s living spaces, as well as the outdoor courtyard. This means the homeowners are never isolated from their family or guests when prepping meals in the kitchen.

Form, function and a whole lot of creative vision – this kitchen is truly an entertainer’s dream.

Filled with style and opulence, the owners of this grand Rose Bay home were inspired to update their outdated kitchen, which was worn out and poorly functioning, and bring it up to par with its surrounding rooms.

La Dolce Vita in Rose Bay | Premier Kitchens

Premier Kitchens delivered a fresh new look that feels equal parts modern and vintage, fitting perfectly into the Rose Bay vibe.

The kitchen’s most eye-catching element is the delicious, large slabs of Paonazzo marble; a luxurious, rich stone with streaks of gold, black, cocoa and caramel running through a cream base like an Italian dessert. The stone is used lavishly, on the island bench, the back counter, backsplash and even as a decorative shelf that runs the back of the kitchen.

Bringing out the veins and grains of the stone, Integrated LED strip lighting splash reflections across the stone’s surface and off trimmings of brass on the handles, barstools, Astral Walker tapware and light overhead of the island.

Kitchen with Black storage and marble backsplash

Similarly, the curved rangehood in Navurban Elements Abstract Bronze evokes an old stove pipe and works perfectly amid the vintage charm.

The previous kitchen wasn’t just out of date, but under-utilised, the floorplan offering more potential than was currently in place. We opened up the room and created more space, for both the counter, adding barstools for entertaining, and for plenty of storage.

Countering the brass and bronze elegance, the thin shaker cabinetry has been finished in Dulux’s Oolong, a matte grey with traces of blue. It creates a deep mood that grounds the kitchen.

marble and black themed kitchen with yellow flowers

Sleek black Fisher & Paykel appliances either sit seamlessly alongside the Oolong, or are integrated behind it, allowing the depth of the finish to really immerse you.

Working with a sophisticated material selection, a timeless colour palette and a few architectural ‘wow’ moments, this kitchen offers maximum impact and give these owners the functionality they needed and the cohesive design they desired. Bellissimo.

Avid entertainers, the owners of this waterside home craved a luxe kitchen that would be bright and airy, easy to work in, and a drawcard for guests.

Capitalising on the stunning vista was a priority, as was addressing the rather awkward shape of the old outdated kitchen. Premier Kitchens set about delivering a modern version of a classic Shaker kitchen, something that made entertaining a breeze, established a seamless connection with the outdoor living area, and framed the beautiful harbour view to perfection. To introduce the required sense of symmetry, a poorly placed window was closed in – a move that also protected the space from the full force of the western sun – and the kitchen was closed off from the dining room.

The owners requested natural stone be used to create a design focal point in the kitchen and bar area. Stunning Calacatta Monet marble, with its swirls of pristine white, bold black and subtle grey, was chosen for the benchtops and splashback, more than fulfilling the owners’ brief. The simplicity of the modern Shaker-profile cabinetry, accented with sleek brass handles and complemented by clean-lined tapware, allows the marble to take centre stage. Brass also makes an appearance in the glass hangers in the bar area. Throughout, the look is seamless, due, in part, to the integrated side wall of joinery and the carefully curated palette of finishes and colours that elevate the space and keep everything light, bright and effortlessly elegant.

Avid entertainers, the owners of this waterside home craved a luxe kitchen that would be bright and airy, easy to work in, and a drawcard for guests.

The traditional Hamptons style remains popular for kitchens, and for good reason.

HAMPTONS ALLURE With Premier Kitchens

Its classic yet fresh look can bring a kitchen alive and give it that homely feel many families want for their heart of the home. This kitchen is located in a newly built casual living space added at the back of the house. It needed to be highly functional for its busy family, who love to cook and entertain. Due to the large space available, compromising on design features was not necessary. The sleek white island is the centre-piece of the room, with detail in the joinery column around the island providing a strong statement of crafted workmanship.

Kitchen Storage shelf

Creating an area for small appliances, where pocket doors could be left open when in use without obstructing the working space, was a must. The Blum LEGRABOX drawer system within the pantries improves functionality and accessibility while also looking stylish. The cooking zone, with its wall ovens, required plenty of bench space and a powerful extraction system. With a bounty of available room, the kitchen is able to accommodate both the cook and their keen diners, perfectly suited to a family.
