Its modern two-pack painted metallic finish has echoes of industrial, but it’s a modern well-appointed space. The brief was to design a well-considered spacious kitchen that led to an open pantry and offered options to entertain. The kitchen is sleek and streamlined.

It boasts a walk-in pantry – no doors means easy access. There are many features, including a copper trim along cabinets that adds a sophisticated urban look.  A bookshelf built into the kitchen offers space to store cookbooks and select decor. The ducted rangehood above the island serves the streamlined look well.

The curved American oak dining table built into the front of the benchtop is an outstanding feature of the space. Its organic curves juxtapose with the straight lines of the remainder of the kitchen. The 38mm Caesarstone benchtop offers a sense of easy coherence, matching the contemporary grey tone of the kitchen.

LED lighting to the kickers and under the top cabinets casts a beautiful subtle glow, with plenty of task lighting overhead to serve the kitchen’s functional needs. With room to move and plenty of design features, this bespoke offering crafted by Kitchens By Peter Gill is inspired.

Before this bold and beautiful contemporary kitchen renovation, the kitchen was a dysfunctional room that was isolated from the rest of the house. It lacked usable bench space and flow. The new kitchen addresses all of those issues and adds a little modern flair to the family home.

A new pantry provides ample storage space with plenty of shelving, perfect to cater to entertaining as well as family gatherings. The striking cabinet doors, which create a streamlined modern look, are Wilsonart Black in traceless finish.

The light floors and Caesarstone in Snow and Calacatta Nuvo soften the dark joinery. The feature timber in the kitchen is Polytec Boston Oak in Woodmatt finish.

Quality Blum hinges, drawers and storage solutions, and Wilson & Bradley Pull-Boy bin, are functional additions. Stylish Miele appliances complement the new kitchen.

Thanks to e&s, the appliances were perfectly chosen for the space and include a quality Siemens oven, cooktop and rangehood and a Bosch dishwasher.

Phoenix tapware has also been selected, as well as a Franke sink and Fisher & Paykel fridge. Black and stainless-steel accents complement the all-white kitchen.

The benchtops are Caesarstone Frosty Carina, and the 3m island has a waterfall edge. There are a number of beautiful, fixed windows that welcome in plenty of natural light.

The soaring, expansive ceiling invites you to look upwards. The void did create some space restrictions in the kitchen, but this was overcome with smart and effective storage solutions – an example of a modern and contemporary kitchen made with quality appliances.

The butler’s pantry offers plenty of space and storage, as well as more preparation room and another sink. Its clever design makes it feel like a continuation of the kitchen and not a separate space.

In order to create a modern and contemporary kitchen with quality appliances, it was important that a light-colour palette and handle less cabinetry and drawers were used to create clean lines. The kitchen doesn’t overshadow the other open plan spaces but sits comfortably alongside them.

As the neighbour’s fence was quite close, we chose a low window that looked onto the vertical garden for a prettier view. The tranquil garden is magnified by the mirrored splashback, which brings the outside in and reflects the greenery from the clear glass splashback at the other end. These splashbacks also work to create the illusion of a much larger space. Choosing materials that would add warmth to the kitchen was another consideration. The neutral colour scheme is offset by wooden cabinetry and flooring, creating a harmonious space that aligns with the surrounding areas. The fully integrated fridge ensures continuity throughout the space while being located in an accessible position. Large benches and an island were also incorporated into the space so functionality abounds, allowing the homeowners to cook while entertaining family and friends.”
