This is a space designed to feel both homely and refined, capturing the atmosphere of a glamorous boutique hotel while still maintaining the comfort of everyday living.

With careful attention to detail throughout the finishes, a striking white staircase greets you as you enter. The design called for a crisp white statement piece that balanced durability with visual appeal. Staron® Solid Surfaces in Bright White was selected for its ability to be seamlessly clad around the substructure of the stair treads, enhancing the floating appearance of the staircase. Where additional structural elements intersected with the staircase the risers were clad in Staron Piano Black, creating a striking contrast that paired effortlessly with the exposed fixing details.

Combined with strategic lighting and a bleacher style adaptation for displaying greenery, the staircase becomes a standout architectural feature, creating a strong visual connection between all levels of the home.

As you move from the staircase toward the kitchen, the pathway leads past an attractive wall feature created using Mario Romano Walls®. The three dimensional, non-repeating pattern is easily tailored to suit the required wall dimensions, with the pattern thoughtfully fading and adapting around power points and lighting elements to maintain a seamless visual flow.

The Orbit design creates a striking mural effect across the wall, enhancing the layering and interaction of materials throughout the interior. As the pattern is carved directly into Staron® Solid Surfaces, the white feature wall becomes more than just a visual statement, it is also a durable and functional piece of artwork designed for everyday living.

Often considered a benchtop material, the staircase and textured wall installation showcase the versatility of Staron® Solid Surfaces within the home. Both elements integrate effortlessly with the project’s material palette and architectural features, helping to create a cohesive connection throughout the interior.

One of the primary goals for this renovation was to address the lack of storage in the existing bathroom. By incorporating under-vanity joinery and a strategically positioned integrated shelf detail within the Epoque Ivory wall tiles for hair and body wash products, the space was elevated to provide both functionality and style.

The custom fluted glass shower, framed in black with cross bars, pairs beautifully with the aged brass tapware, while the rich navy tiles add depth and sophistication. This combination is eye-catching during the day and transforms into a serene retreat at night, with soft lighting highlighting the textured surfaces.

Complementing the crisp white window architraves, Staron was chosen for the double vanity, featuring seamlessly integrated Staron basins. Staron not only adds to the bathroom’s visual appeal but also ensures effortless cleaning. Impervious to water, Staron Solid Surfaces is an ideal material for a wide range of applications in bathroom fitouts, offering both durability and elegance.

Working within the existing footprint, Kate transformed the bathroom from a dull, uninspiring space into a tranquil, elegant sanctuary. The result is a place of escape and relaxation—a true retreat for adults to unwind in style.

This bathroom was just one of four that were renovated simultaneously. For the master ensuite it was to be cohesive with the rest of the homes interiors but also feel just that little bit elevated compared to the family bathroom. For consistency Kate used the Staron integrated vanity tops and basins, custom stained timber veneer vanity joinery and the fluted glass across the bathrooms.

The vision for the design of this chic Brisbane property was to create a family home that not only looked good but was liveable and practical, too. Taking a ‘less is more’ approach, Bayview One, a contemporary new-build, is highlighted by sleek finishes, modern materials, clean lines, and a neutral, light palette. The design created by the leading design duo Darren James and Elissa Greer of award-winning Darren James Interiors, it boasts an alfresco area that flows beautifully from the home’s interior kitchen and living area. Providing plenty of privacy around the pool and with pockets of greenery and landscaping, this outdoor entertaining space is very enticing. It also combines materials from the front facade, namely blackbutt timber and white-painted brick, tying the look to the overall aesthetics of the home’s exterior.

Drawing on their wealth of experience in harmonising textures and surfaces, Darren and Elissa delivered a seamless and integrated look for Bayview One’s interiors by featuring Staron Solid Surface throughout the property, ensuring a flawless design from inside to out. Staron is perfectly placed within the carefully curated collection of materials used across the project, appearing in spaces such as the kitchen, scullery, and study, as well as in the powder room, main bathroom, and laundry. In designing the kitchen particular attention was paid to maintenance, with a small coved return detail seamlessly integrated behind the stove.  This offers a slimline detail for the splashback and eliminates the need for silicon, making cleaning easier. The island also boasts a perfectly integrated silicon-free Staron sink. This matches the island in Staron Bright White, so the sink almost disappears from view.

Establishing an effortless connection between the interior design elements of the home and the alfresco cooking and dining area was of paramount importance. With this in mind, the outdoor kitchen showcases the same curved rangehood detail as featured in the indoor kitchen, while the Staron Solid Surface in Bright White flows from the interior joinery to the outdoor benchtop. Just as importantly, not only does the Staron Solid Surface connect back to the kitchen’s key design elements, it offers a UV-stable option the design duo could layer with other surfaces within the outdoor environment. With first-hand experience of the durable nature of Staron Solid Surface, having used it in one of their previous kitchens, and given the demanding applications in Bayview One, Darren and Elissa didn’t hesitate to once again choose Staron for your new family home.

A striking feature that catches the eye from the backyard entertainment area is the strategically positioned large mesh screen on the upper level of the facade.

Crafted from Kaynemaile® RE/8 Bio-circular Architectural Mesh, this screen serves a dual purpose: giving occupants a sense of privacy without completely blocking off the view of the outdoor entertainment area. In addition, using Kaynemaile® for this application not only ensures privacy but also offers unobstructed views from the bedroom. The mesh boasts a unique three-dimensional structure that enhances both the inside-out views and ventilation.

In this innovative design, the introduction of balustrade wires allows for a seamless, full floor-to-ceiling installation without the need for additional structures. When the large doors are opened,
it creates a profound sense of connection to the outdoors, making it an integral part of the

The display was designed to show off the more playful and colourful stylings the SpaceCraft team can produce with the help of clever design and high-quality surfaces and products. Staron Solid Surfaces, primarily in the very popular Bologna Terrazzo option, appears heavily throughout this display kitchen.

Chosen for their versatility, Staron Solid Surfaces were the perfect choice for this kitchen that’s full of seamless curves. Manufactured from refined bauxite, a safe silica-free mineral, and blended with pure acrylic resin, this surface is known for being high-performing. Thanks to its non-porous nature, Staron is both stain-resistant and easy to clean – perfect for frequently used areas of the kitchen.

The Bologna Terrazzo is eye-catching on the multi-purpose benchtop, beautifully complementing the kitchen’s deep burnt ochre and dusty pink hues as well as the Tasmanian oak timber that appears throughout. This labour-intensive benchtop was carefully crafted by the SpaceCraft Joinery workshop team to create an area that comfortably seats four. Opting to use grey on the benchtop and splashback and paired with white cabinetry, this kitchen is cool and crisp. The Staron Pebble Grey benchtop with its grey base offers distinct pops of white, connecting it to the white cabinets and joinery. While the pendent lighting, stools and curtains bring out the subtle black visual within the benchtop. Scarcely apparent, but within the Pebble Grey, the modest amount of light brown assist to bring the colours of the home together.

This home offers a kitchen that is inviting for the long chat, not somewhere to just prepare food it is more than a kitchen. It is a room that keeps you interested with its warm character and welcoming attraction to just hang out.

The overall colour pallet has a Moroccan tone showcasing bold colour and intricate textures, with a relaxed fun atmosphere this home would make a perfect costal farmhouse retreat.

The large freestanding gas cooktop was an existing appliance within the kitchen, framed with a thick timber mantel displaying carved corbel detail. The warmth of earthy orange under bench cabinets, complements the timber. Keeping with the traditional style of the existing cooktop the clients selected a Smeg Retro style dishwasher in cream.

The splashback tiles behind the cooktop sets the tone for the powder coated teal ply cupboards, where you will find vast storage for groceries and more.

The softness of the mint green Smeg fridge and Staron Solid Surface kitchen benchtops balances the boldness of the kitchen and brings attention to the scattered pops of blue within the space.

Staron Solid Surface offers an easy to clean non-porous material with a softness of feel like timber. Staron assists to absorb the noise of the kitchen clatter which is perfect as the kitchen is situated above the living space.

Adding even more interest to the kitchen area, the benchtops have been fitted with under bench lighting, providing a soft glow within the room as ambient lighting visible from the lower loungeroom.
