Previously defined by two-pack profile doors and black granite benchtops, the original kitchen had warmth and charm but felt dated compared to the refined aesthetic the owners wanted.

The brief centred on creating a space that embodied classic sophistication with modern grace. The first point of call was bringing in luxurious marble benchtops that were to act as the hero of the new kitchen. Calacatta Suttale marble features prominently across the island and surrounding benchtops, with 60mm and 40mm mitred aprons and triple half bullnose detailing adding depth and craftsmanship to the design.

Surrounding the marble benchtop is a soft palette of off-white, white and marble tones, resulting in a welcoming environment that perfectly complements the light-filled space.

Another standout feature is the Waratah chimney breast, which serves as a focal point for the design. Sculptural in form, it introduces character and visual interest while concealing the storage solutions, which are tailored to the clients’ specific needs. Its integration into the entire room is a masterclass in joinery, ensuring aesthetic cohesion despite the customised touch.

Working within the existing footprint required careful planning. With limited layout flexibility, the renovation put a strong emphasis on spatial efficiency, natural flow and accessibility. Appliances and cabinetry were strategically positioned to support an intuitive workflow, while custom storage solutions balance practicality with style.

The completed kitchen successfully bridges traditional foundations with a timeless sensibility: a harmonious space where elegance, functionality and family life coexist.

Objective: Take this traditional kitchen out of the past and transform it into a practical, modern space for daily use and entertaining.

Solution: With careful product and material selection and some exceptional craftsmanship, this luxury kitchen exudes an understated opulence for the entire family to enjoy.
