Designed and built by The Maker Designer Kitchens, the new kitchen occupies the former lounge while the original kitchen footprint has been repurposed as a bedroom, with a new extension creating generous living and dining zones around it.

Florentine Walnut cabinetry establishes an immediate sense of warmth and depth. Its rich grain and tonal variation bring a natural softness to the architecture, while bold, bright, natural stone introduces a dramatic counterpoint. Together, the materials create an interplay of light and shadow that gives the kitchen a strong architectural presence without sacrificing its inviting character.

The cabinetry has been treated almost as architectural panelling, with uninterrupted lines, subtle bevelled profiles and carefully concealed functionality. Integrated appliances disappear into the joinery, while curved walnut handles introduce a gentle, tactile detail to the otherwise disciplined geometry.

Behind the refined façade, generous pantry zones, hidden pull-outs and an enclosed appliance cabinet ensure the kitchen works effortlessly for everyday life. Dish drawers, French-door refrigeration and a glass-fronted wine fridge have all been integrated with restraint, preserving the visual calm of the room.

At the heart of the entertaining experience, a warm mirrored bar area and brushed brass rangehood surround catch the light. The brass tapware and pendant lighting continue the metallic thread lending the space a subtle glow and sense of opulence.

The Florentine Walnut palette extends beyond the kitchen into the living area and walk-in robe, creating continuity throughout the home. Delivered within a compressed timeframe, the project demanded precise coordination across multiple trades, resulting in a cohesive interior where bespoke craftsmanship, concealed functionality and richly layered materials combine to make the kitchen feel as though it has always belonged there.
