The beauty of this bathroom lies in its organic simplicity. Utilising raw materials, such as the pebble stone floor and concrete basins and bath, we carefully selected each piece to create a seamless blend of styles in a soothing colour palette.

The original bathroom had a similar layout, excluding the built-in bath, but the decor was tired and longed for a revival. The homeowners wanted a relaxed space that capitalised on the window view, drawing in aspects of the ocean with
plenty of organic elements to give it character.

The result is a sleek and luxurious bathroom that offers the illusion of space thanks to the freestanding bath. The stony shades of grey add hints of luxe, while the custom-designed teak vanity brings warmth back into the room.

Having recently returned from a holiday in Japan, the homeowners were conditioned to the experience of a wet-room setting that is unique to the Japanese culture.

The tradition is that the shower is used for rinsing first, followed by soaking in the bath. Their upstairs ensuite provided the scope of space required for this in their home and Ultimate Kitchens and Bathrooms executed the plan perfectly, with the layout clearly divided between the wet room and vanity zone.

The style has gone from an early ‘90s look with small blue floor tiles and white wall tiles, to the vast space that now features large-format floor-to-ceiling tiles. It is hard to believe that this renovation took place in the exact space the original ensuite existed in.

A spatial arrangement that would allow for the wet-room requirements, including a soaker bath, combination shower and bench seat all incorporated into one area, was a challenge that was overcome thanks to some creative thinking. Ultimately, these elements were enclosed behind a glass area. The vanity and toilet are located where they were in the original room.

The choice of finishes was crucial to the theme, with the timber-look wall tiles adding a lovely element of warmth to the environment. The LED lights over the vanity provide the perfect lighting for make-up. The owners now wake up to a captivating day spa-style space that most would aspire to on a holiday.

This Edwardian home’s previous bathrooms were tired and limited in facilities and the homeowners were not happy with the mismatch of materials. So they embarked on a renovation and approached us to reconfigure the spaces to provide the facilities required for a family home, while ensuring a sense of flow between the spaces.

The homeowners requested a minimalist, semi-industrial design with complementary finishes. Plentiful storage that doesn’t obstruct the desired minimalist aesthetic was also a must for both spaces. Located on the ground floor, the main bathroom’s standout feature is the copper bath
is the, which complements the era of the home.

The copper works beautifully with the black hexagonal and white gloss subway tiles, while the black ceiling creates a theatrical effect to the space. The ensuite located on the ground floor was designed to be a luxurious space with all the desired facilities, with the warm theme echoed in the materials used. The vanity was created from recycled messmate with a horizontal grain, complemented by a polished concrete benchtop.

The walk-in double shower creates a real impact with its black-framed glass, which again echoes the framing of the mirrors and shelving. The introduction of a primary colour to the vanity and storage in the bathroom located on the first floor adds a sense of fun that was desired in a children’s space, while still keeping to the semi-industrial theme.

The archetypal elements of this kitchen design are what make it so compelling.

The kitchen is located in a Neo-Georgian-style residence and the finishes and decor were chosen to blend beautifully and strike a balance in the stately home. The original kitchen didn’t fit with the traditional architecture featured in the rest of the room and it wasn’t the most functional either. When an incident with a water leak occurred, the homeowners decided it was time to renovate.

They requested a bespoke kitchen for the area. Though they were happy to work with the existing space, they wanted an island bench, which required the removal of one wall. Careful consideration was necessary when finalising the kitchen’s design and choosing its materials and fixtures to ensure it enhanced the home’s architectural style.

With this in mind, a Lacanche oven and a traditional-look pendant light were integrated as the kitchen’s focal points. The door profile and double half bullnose benchtop featuring a marble-look surface were selected to complement the rest
of the space, resulting in a cohesive design that will exude elegance for years to come.
