Inka Interiors has transformed a dated Chelmer home with a full kitchen and bathroom renovation that brings cohesion, light and functionality to the entry-level spaces.
The previous kitchen and bathroom, both roughly 25 years old, featured marble tiles that had aged poorly and a colour palette that no longer suited contemporary living. The layout of the kitchen restricted flow, particularly around the corner pantry and island, while the bathroom struggled to function as either a guest ensuite or powder room.
The client sought a complete modernisation, including new flooring throughout, and looked to Inka Interiors to improve circulation and usability.
In the kitchen, the design team reconfigured the island to open up movement to the outdoor living area, while the corner pantry was redesigned to maximise storage and efficiency. Polytec Maison Oak and Blossom White joinery introduces warmth and contrast, with the natural grain of the oak pairing elegantly against crisp white surfaces. Taj Mahal quartzite benchtops provide a durable and tactile focal point, complemented by Brodware City Stik Roma bronze tapware, which adds subtle sophistication.
Integrated Neff and Fisher & Paykel appliances create a seamless, modern finish, while a minimalist Linear Pendant Light from Lighting Collective enhances both task and ambient lighting over the island.
The bathroom renovation addressed its awkward layout by reimagining the space to function as a practical ensuite and powder room combination. Thoughtful placement of fixtures, combined with a refreshed material palette, allows the bathroom to feel both luxurious and approachable. Bronze tapware echoes the kitchen, creating visual harmony between the two areas. Natural tones and clean lines are emphasised throughout, replacing the dated marble with surfaces that feel contemporary yet timeless.
Overall, the project balances form and function with a considered attention to detail. Inka Interiors has succeeded in modernising the Chelmer entry level, achieving a sense of openness and flow while introducing materials, colours and finishes that are both practical and visually engaging. The result is a kitchen and bathroom that feel entirely renewed, providing an inviting and elegant setting for both everyday living and entertaining.
