This stunning pool lays high on the northern side of the iconic Sydney harbour and is the ultimate poolside goal in inner-city residential living unbounded by any visual obstructions.

Designed to allow the customer to maximise the most of their property and its stunning outlook, this pool and spa exceed in opulence and comfort. The pool was very close to the heart of the owner who had significant involvement in the entire construction process – that lends itself to our business motto of making your pool dreams come to life.

A perfect choice of the Hisbalit Devonport tile allows the visual effect of the pool water to perfectly match the sparkling water of Sydney harbour unfettered by any visual boundary. The pool is truly a tourist’s paradise in the secure setting of a home. A Gray Travertine coping stone adds additional elegance to this very well thought through finish.

With a Naked Pool Fresh Water Filtration System minimising the use of chemicals in the pool water, the client comes as close as possible to the benefits of the natural environment both inside and outside the pool.

Both pool and spa feature Aquaquip Evomax multicolour niche pool lights that offer additional entertainment value to the pool in the evening. The spa is heated by an INSNRG Gi 420mj Gas Heater for added comfort. Water levels are maintained with a Waterco MK11 Auto Water Leveller. A Zodiac Aqualink M8 Pool and Spa Combo automation system allows the pool and backyard equipment to be adjusted remotely using the simple touch on a mobile phone.

The homeowners approached Artesian Pools Pty Ltd with a clear vision: to modernise an existing pool that no longer reflected the home’s setting or their lifestyle. While the pool’s original terracotta coping and dated finishes had served their time, the structure itself offered excellent bones — particularly its generous proportions and distinctive B-shaped form. With strong communication and decisive planning from the outset, the renovation progressed smoothly and efficiently.

Rather than imposing a rigidly modern geometry, Artesian Pools embraced the pool’s curved form, striking a balance between traditional shaping and contemporary detailing. Measuring approximately 12 metres by 5 metres, the in-ground concrete pool now features a generous step entry connected to a bench seat by a central platform — an arrangement that feels both luxurious and practical, allowing multiple swimmers to enter comfortably or simply sit and enjoy the water.

A crisp, light colour palette was key to the transformation. Ash Marblano porcelain coping and matching pavers from The Pool Tile Company create a seamless surround, visually expanding the pool area and amplifying the sense of space. Within the pool, Ezarri Niebla tiles deliver a soft, elegant water tone that reflects the river beyond, changing subtly throughout the day as light moves across the surface.

Frameless glass fencing ensures uninterrupted views to the water, making the most of the property’s elevated position and reinforcing the feeling that the pool is floating above the landscape. By day, the pool sparkles against blue skies and greenery; by night, discreet AquaQuip white QC retro lights provide gentle illumination, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere.

Functionality was just as important as aesthetics. A Dolphin M700 robotic cleaner and a Naked Pool Freshwater System deliver low-maintenance performance with minimal chemical use, while a custom-built pool equipment filter box keeps services neatly concealed. The result is a pool that is as easy to live with as it is visually striking.

For Artesian Pools, this project exemplifies our design philosophy — “the ability and experience behind the art”. By respecting the original form, enhancing it with contemporary materials, and ensuring the pool complements both the home and its environment, they have delivered a renovation that feels timeless, balanced and beautifully resolved.

The post A Light-Filled Pool Renovation Brings Contemporary Elegance To A Prized Setting appeared first on Completehome.

Perched high above the tranquil waters of the Georges River, this beautifully reimagined swimming pool captures the essence of relaxed waterfront living without the intensity of Sydney’s harbour bustle. Known affectionately as River View, the Oatley property enjoys leafy surrounds, uninterrupted water vistas and a sense of calm that set the tone for a thoughtful and refined pool renovation.

The pool features beautiful Ezarri Iris Mix Diamond tiles that shimmer endlessly in the sun and are perfectly accentuated by a grey grout that enhances the sharp geometric lines of the pool and spa. The coping is Silver Travertine Porcelain that works perfectly with the free-form exterior cladding.

The landscaping was done by Scenic Blue Design who, with their thorough planning in the pre-construction design and architectural processes, excelled in creating a stunning and colourful backyard oasis with a really nice entertainment area beside the pool.

The external cladding ensures the pool sits perfectly in its surrounding landscape design. The land itself on the block is not perfectly level, that meant the pool is partially in the ground and partially above ground. However, the beautiful design and landscaping actually transformed this aspect into one of the most unique and beautiful features of this pool.

Listening Carefully to the Client’s Brief

The owners were after “a pool and spa that worked well together and had a shallow section for kids to play in”. They also wanted the pool “long enough to swim in, with a rest area at either end”. Some kind of waterfall feature was a wish as well.

Transforming Dreams into Reality

The pool features a swim-out that runs across the end of the pool to accommodate the owner’s desire to have a family friendly pool design. The deepest point is in the centre of the pool which enhances this child friendly feature of the pool ends. The pool is 12m long and 4m wide, offering plenty of space for swimming and pool activities. The spa is a great size too – 4m x 3.5m x 1m deep.

The elevated spa serves as a perfect centre feature for the client who wished for a water feature within their pool. It has a wet edge all around that flows beautifully into the pool and is quite stunning both when all the spa equipment is running and also when it isn’t. The design is elegant and sophisticated but flexible to meet the needs of the whole family.

The pool features a Naked Pool System allowing for minimal use of chemicals. It also features an Aqualink M8 Pool Control System allowing the owners to operate the controls using their mobile phones.

The spa is gas heated and can get up to 40 degrees in winter, which the owners have described as “very relaxing and many drinks have been had on a winters afternoon!”.

The owners have also told us “The pool is great for play and swim, not heated, so refreshing, especially after a spa”

What the Owners Say is Their Favourite Part of the Project

“The way the pool was designed with its fully tiled finish glistening in the sun. We love how the pool fits the back yard beautifully and are so proud of our pool and back yard”.

The pool effortlessly extends the entertainment area of the home into the backyard with an elevated outlook over the surrounding landscaping, unimpeded by the installation of frameless pool glass fencing. Whilst allowing a perfect viewpoint over the breathtaking vista beyond, the pool serves both as a visual platform to the surrounding bushland and also a focal point of the home.

Sophisticated and modern clean lines are accentuated with the use of the stylish and glistening Ezarri White Russian tile that allows the water to effortlessly mimic the perfect light blue of a clear Australian sky, complimenting the refreshing tones on the sun-soaked pool surrounds.

A full-length seat running the entire length of the long-edge of the pool allows the perfect stage for bathers to take in the incredible outlook whilst also enjoying the relaxing massage offered by the in-built spa effect.

Special Features

The pool features an elegant negative edge that gives the impression of an infinity edge, mirrored by a full-length bench seat running the entire edge on the long side of the pool with an in-built spa effect offering additional comfort and a luxury. With a Naked Pool Fresh Water Filtration System minimising the use of chemicals in the pool water, the client comes as close as possible to the benefits of the natural environment both inside and outside the pool.

A Madimack ESV3 – 220 Heat Pump extends the swim season comfortably into months that would otherwise be tempered by the fresh riverside temperatures in the cooler months of the year. The pool also features AquaQuip EvoMax Multi-Colour Instatouch pool lights that offer a remote-control feature for convenience. A Maytronics Dolphin M700 included with each new pool build offers ease in maintenance.

The post Native Oasis appeared first on Completehome.

Brought to life by Artesian Pools, this project was not just about building a swimming pool, but also about creating a lifestyle space that has become a standout feature of the home. Beautifully bright, the contemporary pool is built to effortlessly fit with the modern architectural design of the dwelling, situated on a sunlit, elevated block in Dover Heights in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

The in-ground rectangular concrete pool and poolside space blend effortlessly into the backyard and alfresco area, allowing for maximum integration of the pool and entertaining elements of the home. The clean architectural lines of the 8m-long pool, cool colour scheme of the interior tiles and surrounding coping, teamed with the clever in-built design of the poolside furniture such as the curved daybed, allow for optimal maximisation of pure summer vacation vibes.

The choice of a cool colour tone captures the brightness of the sun, matches the build of the home, and is complemented by the landscaping. The clever selection of grey grout accentuates the pool tiles while also emphasising the sleek architectural lines of both the pool and internal spa.

By closely colour matching the coping stone with the pavers that continue into the alfresco, the pool and surrounds become one and creatively blend inside and outside living. Through the use of seamless glass, the pool fence almost “disappears” and removes any visual obstruction of the backyard view to the pool. The fencing blends with the daybed through careful matching of = materials and cleverly integrates vertical and horizontal lines that accentuate the architectural elegance of the pool and surrounds.

“This was as close to a flawless project as you could get,” explains Zeb Rodrigues, director of Artesian Pools. “With this project, we applied our motto ‘the ability and experience behind the art’. For us, a good design focuses on building a pool that is not only functional, but one that is also a standout feature of the property, creating a build that complements the home and makes best use of available space while meeting the perfect point between balance and contrast.”

The post Vacation Vibes: A Stunning Pool in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs appeared first on Completehome.

Artesian Pools was presented with an old existing pool in Sydney’s eastern suburbs that had been filled in. Now its owner wanted to breathe new life into it and use it for both swimming and as a design feature of the courtyard. Artesian Pools was required to use a very small space, approximately 3m wide, to create the rectangular lap pool.

“This 7.4m-long pool makes great use of a very limited space with difficult access and gives the homeowner a functional pool which, at the same time, is a feature of the house from every level and the cabana above the garage,” says Zeb Rodrigues, director of Artesian Pools. “However, during its planning, the depth of the existing pool was not known and details could not be confirmed until the hand-excavation was done.”

The exquisite glass mosaic-tiled pool, designed by the homeowner and Rory Brooks Architects, blends new contemporary materials such as steel and frameless glass while preserving the traditional features of the existing house, such as water spouts and stone walls.

The finished project is a perfect example of the exceptional work that Artesian Pools is capable of and produces time and time again. “Concrete pools allow you to design something specific to suit each site,” says Zeb. “We are able to build pools in any space regardless of size, access or landscape difficulty.”

The post This pool makeover is the ultimate functional design statement appeared first on Completehome.

The homeowners requested a low-maintenance pool they can use all year that makes the most of the vista and bush setting. “This is the owners’ holiday house and they do a lot of entertaining when they are there,” explains Zeb Rodrigues, owner of Artesian Pools, who built the stunning pool-and-spa combination.

The 11.7m-long Bisazza-tiled infinity pool can be accessed from the house level and has a large adjacent entertaining area inside the pool enclosure. The spa, meanwhile, is slightly raised. Frameless glass pool fencing was used so that it does not detract from the spectacular views.

A ledge features at the deep end of pool so that swimmers can easily look over the edge and admire the perfect water view. Artesian Pools created a cantilevered design with infinity edges on two sides. The water runs through the river pebbles in the dry gutters and down to a retention tank under the pool, and the water is then pumped back to the pool.

Designing a pool that is both functional and a feature of the property is very important to the team at Artesian Pools. Creating something that complements the home with the best use of available space and adds value to the property is integral to the company when carrying out any design.

Artesian Pools was started by Eusebio Rodrigues (Zeb) in 1994. They work on 25 to 30 pools a year all over Sydney and country NSW, with a focus on quality, not quantity. The team specialises in the design and construction of concrete swimming pools and renovation of existing concrete pools. Their commitment to customers is to deliver a beautiful swimming pool using the best materials and high-quality workmanship. When you deal with Artesian Pools you deal directly with the builder, from the quotation through to the construction process and handover. “We spend a lot of time with the client ensuring the pool will suit their requirements and become a feature of their home,” says Zeb.

Artesian Pools is a member of the Master Builder’s Association (MBA) and has won many awards in recent years, including in the MBA excellence in Swimming Pools Awards – Residential Spas category in 2018. In the 2017 awards, Artesian won the Pool Renovations up to $50,000 category and was a joint winner of the Traditional or Geometric Concrete Pools $50,001-$100,000 award.

In the 2016 awards, Artesian won an award for Master Builders Association Excellence in Swimming Pools – Lap Pools, and the Master Builders Association Excellence in Swimming Pools – Residential Spas.
