Glenn Murcutt is recognised as one of Australia’s and the world’s most influential architects. His groundbreaking, contemporary designs combine sustainability and harmony with the natural environment. Renowned for drawing by hand, despite technological advances, Murcutt has received many national and international awards including the 2002 Pritzker prize and in 2009 the American Institute of Architect’s Gold Medal. In June, a special exhibition of Murcutt’s work opened at the Museum of Sydney to recognise and celebrate his 40 year career and contribution to more than 500 buildings. The exhibition is presented by the Architecture Foundation Australia in conjunction with The Historic Houses Trust and the NSW Architects Registration Board and courtesy of TOTO Gallery Ma Tokyo. The exhibtion runs until October.
