The winners of the 2025-2026 Landscape of the Year Awards, presented by Outdoor Design, displayed the highest standards of design, construction, and horticultural expertise.
The overall Landscape of the Year award, plus the award for Best Sustainable Landscape, went to Exotic Living.

Meet the expert judges of Outdoor Design’s Landscape of the Year Awards 2025
Tim Stafford
Scapex Landscapes

With more than 20 years of experience in the landscape industry, Tim Stafford is the founder of Scapex Landscapes, a landscape construction business that specialises in residential and commercial projects. His experienced team has won multiple awards at the Landscape Queensland Construction Excellence Awards and Tim received national recognition by the Australian Institute of Horticulture. With a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a Diploma of Horticulture, Tim understands the intricacies of the design process and the construction detail required to ensure a successful outcome, and he has led teams on many major projects, including private gardens at the Governor’s House in Brisbane and private residences.
Claudia Crawley
Grindstone Landscapes

Claudia Crawley, a landscape designer and co-founder of design and construction business Grindstone Landscapes, is a multiple award winner with a passion for contemporary garden design. Born and raised in Germany, it was not until her move to Australia that she followed her dreams and gained a Diploma in Landscape Design and worked for three years with Peter Fudge. For seven years she was a director on the board of the Landscape Design Institute. Claudia is also the founder of LD Graphics Australia — Your Online Digital Landscape Design Graphic Store, which offers a collection of landscape design vector symbols. These meticulously crafted symbols, have been created for use with the Vectorworks drafting program.
John Storch
A Total Concept

Landscape architect John Storch is the founder of A Total Concept, a design and management practice that specialises in the integration of swimming pools, gardens, and cabanas. John has been designing outdoor spaces for more than 35 years, and he is a believer in creating holistic spaces that flow seamlessly with all other elements of the landscape and home. John has created many award-winning projects, some individually and others collectively with his team of talented landscape architects and pool designers. He is passionate about design in all its forms and always pays close attention to the details of each project, and how the different aspects combine to create a cohesive whole integrating home, pool, and landscape.
Tom Fisher
Davey Water Products

Tom Fisher of Davey Water Products has a strong industrial and consumer marketing background, having led global brands throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Europe, and Africa. Outside of the business world, Tom is passionate about design and architecture, and has designed, built, and renovated multiple homes around the world with his wife and family. He appreciates aesthetically pleasing, functional, and versatile landscaped areas that bring joy and calm to homes. Through his work at Davey, Tom has developed a unique understanding of the local and global pool markets, from the pool products homeowners require to consumer trends, such as the call for low-maintenance outdoor designs.
Veda Dante
Pitch Partners

Veda Dante has 30 years’ experience as a media specialist — 20 of those in Australia’s dynamic swimming pool and spa space. Starting in 2000, Veda edited Lifestyle Pools + Outdoor Design magazine for a decade, where her role involved writing feature articles on pool and landscape industry topics; liaising with pool designers, builders, and landscape architects; commissioning photographers; and co-judging the publication’s annual awards. Veda, whose work has appeared in a wide variety of trade and consumer magazines, including Outdoor Design’s sister publication Poolside, also has experience as a commercial photographer, although these days her lens is much more likely to be pointed at her dogs than clients.
