Exotic fire pits featuring traditional Vietnamese stone carving, funky planters fashioned from recycled tyres, exquisite animal sculptures handcrafted by African artisans … at Think Outside, variety is not only the spice of life, it’s the holy grail of company founder and designer Aaron Jackson.
Think Outside, formerly My Piece of Africa, is dedicated to diversity. Buoyed by the success of his factory in Africa, in 2008 Aaron opened a second factory in Vietnam, both of which provide work, training and support for the local people. Along with this expansion came a vastly increased product range and a name change to herald an exciting new era in the company’s proud history.
“More and more, the outside and inside are blending together. Think Outside is pushing the boundaries of design to bring together one of the newest and most contemporary collections of garden sculptures and home décor items,” says Aaron.
But Think Outside’s commitment extends beyond design innovation. This is a company that places a high priority on sustainability.
“Our objective is to sustain and improve the lifestyle of all the people who we directly employ,” says Aaron. “Also, our ongoing design direction is focused on the use of natural, sustainable materials — stone, metal, rubber and wood.”

Think Outside’s two new planter collections also offer something fresh and exciting. There is Paré, a range of modern, lightweight planters with a raw, timber-clad finish and Tread, an edgy planter range made from recycled tyres.
For those of a more whimsical frame of mind, there is a delightful collection of Middle Kingdom characters, each meticulously handcrafted. Or, if you’re looking to create a truly one-of-a-kind effect, look to Think Outside’s eclectic EE-I-EE-I-O range of fun farm animals. This novel new range is made from recycled 44-gallon drums and will add character to any garden.
And, of course, there are the metal animal and bird sculptures that launched the company on to the market 10 years ago. Whether it is a unique work of art or a high-quality planter, Think Outside offers you a world of choice.
