Real kitchen: Modern classic

This was a new build, but that didn’t mean classic style wasn’t a priority

The marble splashback and benchtop naturally draw the eye, so we chose minimal, warm white cabinet drawers and panels to really allow the marble to take centre stage and inject a rich sense of luxury into the space. Classic, French-inspired trimmings such as pastel striped blinds and beautiful light fittings create a timeless aesthetic, perfectly finished by a broad timber table and white chairs. Glass-fronted cabinets allow for easy display of cherished items, with a black interior drawing the eye and tying them neatly in with the modern Miele appliances that surround them. Dual ovens, two eating areas and plenty of storage make this an absolutely ideal environment for feeding a crowd, and the broad design fills out the space in a way that’s sure to wow even the most discerning guest.”
Designer: May Wang for Royal Regal Kitchens & Furniture
Builder: LHG Developments

We love: The huge array of hidden storage, especially the wine rack tucked behind the kitchen island.

Expert Tip: Don’t forget flooring! This parquet floor does a great job of bringing a classic space right up to the minute.
