Good design in the bathroom can have an almost magical effect.
That’s certainly the case in this space from Above All Bathrooms, where smart layout and finishes have resulted in a room that’s far more than just smoke and mirrors.
The previous bathroom was a small space with dated tiles, fixtures and fittings. While Above All Bathrooms couldn’t increase the actual footprint, the team worked their magic to make the space feel larger — starting with the tiles. A large 300mm x 600mm tile was chosen to add a sense of luxury, with the contrast between the lava stone and white finishes adding interest. This instantly gave the room a lift and brought it into the modern day since the previous tiles really gave away the age of the space.
The frameless shower screen again enhances the feeling of space in the room. The screen is also very easy to clean — an essential requirement and design consideration from the owner of this home. Freestanding baths create a sense of grandeur, and this one certainly meets that brief. It’s simple yet modern and luxurious, and the white gloss finish harmonises with the white gloss tiles on the wall.
Extra storage was provided with the overhang cupboards, which marry function with a fashionable sleek and contemporary finish.
