Connecting Education to Industry

Connecting Education to Industry

In a world of change in how students prepare themselves for their vocation and future careers, it is more important than ever to adapt to audience needs, some would say to be ‘customer centric.’

John Eussen has been connecting education to the design industry over the past 10 years which started with the Sydney and Melbourne, ‘Grand Designs Live’ Australian Home shows.

The project is now covered by media partners Grand Designs Australia and Home Design magazines.

‘Previous finalists have become some of Australia’s prominent interior designers and have worked on major commercial and residential projects’ says John.

‘It is also a privilege to see they have become significant clients of our partnering product sponsors of which are an important ingredient to any design brief.’

The eussen design competition has worked with the major Australian interior design Universities, Colleges, Tafe and Institutes so it makes sense to now take the competition globally, says John.

The eussen portfolio is now collaborating with Mozaik Play, an education marketplace for the creatives industries. Mozaik Play connects students to the best creative colleges worldwide.

Mozaik Play represents education faculties around the world in the creative disciplines such as interior design, fashion, animation, graphic, digital media, TV and film just to name a few.

The education platform is changing, and the creative disciplines are now making a strong impact in industry because of the increasing evolvement of technology and the virtual world. Technology needs the creative! “The creatives now have a voice,” says John.

To quote Steve Jobs, “The best way to create value in the 21st century is to connect Creativity and Technology.”

The 2022 design competition is the first of the international projects where the students will be design a creative expo incorporating both bricks and mortar and virtual components, the first of its kind in this platform.

Think the film ‘Narnia’ and the fanciful components around this and this will be the students design platform of inspiration.
