Feast your eyes on this tantalisingly textured kitchen from the experts at Geelong Tiles & Bathware. Earthy, modern and family-friendly are just a few adjectives that describe the Reid’s new kitchen.
Their brief called for a cooking space that was “modern Mediterranean with personality”. Expected to service the culinary needs of a family of five, the design is minimalist but homely thanks to warm finishes that fill the space with character.
Curves and archways are recurring themes throughout the home, evident in the curvy island bench in the kitchen. Featuring half dowel timber cladding built by the owner, the island is a picture-perfect location to enjoy a freshly ground coffee before the daily grind begins.
“We knew we wanted our kitchen to be heavily artistic while still functional, so an enclosed rangehood was essential,” says the owner. “We change the artwork displayed regularly along with the decor displayed on the walnut open shelving.”
A laundry branches off from the kitchen and continues the whimsical style and colour palette. Dressed in handmade Moroccan clay tiles and featuring a white granite sink and ABI Elysian kitchen mixer from Geelong Tiles & Bathware, it’s a service area with style.
With curves in all the right places, this kitchen is more than just a pretty face. It’s a home cook’s greatest ally.
