We love the parallels and perfect symmetry of this build. The pool features a unique elevated spa with multi coloured bubblers offering fun and colour in the evening hours, adding to the entertainment value of the pool.
The pool features beautiful Ezarri Iris Mix Diamond tiles that shimmer endlessly in the sun and are perfectly accentuated by a grey grout that enhances the sharp geometric lines of the pool and spa. The coping is Silver Travertine Porcelain that works perfectly with the free-form exterior cladding.
The landscaping was done by Scenic Blue Design who, with their thorough planning in the pre-construction design and architectural processes, excelled in creating a stunning and colourful backyard oasis with a really nice entertainment area beside the pool.
The external cladding ensures the pool sits perfectly in its surrounding landscape design. The land itself on the block is not perfectly level, that meant the pool is partially in the ground and partially above ground. However, the beautiful design and landscaping actually transformed this aspect into one of the most unique and beautiful features of this pool.
Listening Carefully to the Client’s Brief
The owners were after “a pool and spa that worked well together and had a shallow section for kids to play in”. They also wanted the pool “long enough to swim in, with a rest area at either end”. Some kind of waterfall feature was a wish as well.
Transforming Dreams into Reality
The pool features a swim-out that runs across the end of the pool to accommodate the owner’s desire to have a family friendly pool design. The deepest point is in the centre of the pool which enhances this child friendly feature of the pool ends. The pool is 12m long and 4m wide, offering plenty of space for swimming and pool activities. The spa is a great size too – 4m x 3.5m x 1m deep.
The elevated spa serves as a perfect centre feature for the client who wished for a water feature within their pool. It has a wet edge all around that flows beautifully into the pool and is quite stunning both when all the spa equipment is running and also when it isn’t. The design is elegant and sophisticated but flexible to meet the needs of the whole family.
The pool features a Naked Pool System allowing for minimal use of chemicals. It also features an Aqualink M8 Pool Control System allowing the owners to operate the controls using their mobile phones.
The spa is gas heated and can get up to 40 degrees in winter, which the owners have described as “very relaxing and many drinks have been had on a winters afternoon!”.
The owners have also told us “The pool is great for play and swim, not heated, so refreshing, especially after a spa”
