A vast central island bench is the functional focal point in this completely renovated kitchen.
When the owners decided that their home needed a complete overhaul, the kitchen was also a key part of the project. Kitchen TRENDS was given the task of creating the hub of the home.
A key criterion for the new kitchen was to create a vast island bench as a central reference point. The bench also had to incorporate plenty of practical storage spaces, drawers and shelving and the clients wanted the design to be hardwearing and efficient yet look spectacular.
The end result is an 1800mm square CaesarStone bench in Snow with abundant workspace for meal preparation and casual dining. There are also plenty of storage and shelving options to allow the owners to display their impressive collection of cookbooks and other personal items that give this kitchen its character and charm.
The island area also incorporates a 300mm breakfast bar overhang with a stacked stone feature that completes the carefully designed island bench in this home.
The kitchen incorporates a large number of drawers with Blum hardware, including corner drawers. Running in an “L” shape behind the island bench, the sleek white joinery incorporates an integrated dishwasher and a large underbench oven with matching cooktop and rangehood.
A silver metallic glass splashback is another feature and the louvred windows allow breezes from the nearby tropical gardens and river to flow through this impressive space, creating that tropical island paradise feel.
