“This is a true family kitchen and the owner knew exactly what he wanted — a practical, open-plan design without being too imposing.
Every element of the project was chosen with family functionality in mind. The 4m long Corian island is the centrepiece, creating a great space for the family to gather. Drawers at varying ergonomic heights enhance the practicality of the room and handle-free cabinetry delivers a sleek form.
An eclectic mix of old and new adds character and interest; a whitewashed floor and rustic brick fireplace in the dining area balance the vivid white polyurethane cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances.
We wanted the design to reflect the family’s love of entertaining, which is enhanced by the large doors opening on to the sweeping deck. A second fridge is strategically placed inside the kitchen adjacent to the barbecue area.”
