Boasting a light, fresh and airy ambience, this newly renovated kitchen has been transformed from a dark, drab and outdated space into a fabulous contemporary kitchen while maximising storage and functionality.
White melamine cabinets, frosted glass doors, a busy mosaic splashback and stone benchtops were some of the pitfalls of the previous design. The island bench also faced the living area, which was not ideal.
The team at Dezign Kitchens created a much more streamlined space that focused on a free-flowing living, dining and entertaining area. The direction of the island bench was changed and the kitchen was opened up to the living zone, doubling its size and functionality.
The owners wanted to include a butler’s pantry, but didn’t want to sacrifice their new 4m-long island bench. Dezign Kitchens came up with the idea of building the pantry into what was previously a void in the old kitchen, providing hidden access through doors that matched the cabinets on the right side of the double integrated fridges. This ingenious idea resulted in the expansion of available storage space and capabilities in the kitchen.
The cooktop and sink were both placed on one side of the kitchen to create defined work spaces, allowing people to flow freely without interrupting each another. A custom-integrated handle rail keeps design lines clean and modern.
As frequent entertainers, incorporating a wine fridge was a must! The space can now be used to entertain guests as well as prepare food and eat meals.
