Out with the old: a timeless kitchen design

Gallery

This kitchen was the result of a renovation that aimed to make better use of the kitchen space available. What emerged was a functional design in a timeless, classic style

“As this kitchen is part of a whole-house renovation, one of the most pertinent aspects of the design brief was to stay within budget so that the rest of the renovation didn’t suffer. The old kitchen didn’t use the available space efficiently, so once that was removed there was room enough to create a generous , practical design that also enhances the rest of the updated house. Black and white is always a go-to when it comes to classic, timeless design, but to keep things as light as possible, the dark elements were used minimally — black grouting in the splashback and fluid grey veining within the luminous white benchtop. To warm up the palette, Shaker-style detail was adopted in the cabinetry and polished timber makes a lustrous appearance as flooring. The overall effect is one of ageless appeal that the whole family can enjoy.”
