Small Scandinavian kitchen style

A new home is the ideal background for this smaller-sized, Scandinavian-influenced kitchen

The owners of this sleek kitchen had just built a new home and when it came to their kitchen, they wanted something very European. Looking to the Scandinavian style of design for inspiration, their kitchen was to look very clean and simple — and this white space with light timber veneer features matches the owners’ vision perfectly. The kitchen was relatively small in comparison to many others but, as they say, good things come in small packages.

Still, designer Con Moshopoulos of Urban Kitchens really had his work cut out for him, as his design had to cleverly squeeze in two Liebherr integration fridges. Space-saving ideas were cleverly employed to maximise the available space, such as an abundance of timber veneer drawers with handle-free extrusion. Despite its size, the crisp, glossy white kitchen is filled with plenty of special design features such as 80mm-thick Amerind sandblasted oak timber veneer end panels, Calcatta marble splashbacks and polished concrete floors, which also accentuate the modern look.

“The kitchen looks fantastic and is very user-friendly for a smaller-sized house,” says Con.
