What was once a dated and impractical kitchen has been transformed into a warm and sophisticated space by the design team. The original kitchen consisted of dated cream gloss cabinetry with a drab timber benchtop and an assortment of awkwardly sized drawers that didn’t meet the homeowner’s storage needs.
The new homeowners reached out to the experienced design team at Enigma Interiors to create a clean, elegant kitchen that integrates modern functionality seamlessly. The list of requests included minimal wall cabinetry, maximised drawer storage with practical sizing, and a cleverly concealed walk-in pantry. Integration was key, with fridges and the dishwasher also hidden within the cabinetry for a sleek, uninterrupted aesthetic.
Design-wise, this kitchen is a study in understated luxury. A custom-made Taj Mahal stone benchtop includes a generously sized sink integrated into the stone. The rich warmth of MODULO® timber batten by Screenwood adds natural texture, while the custom curved splashback offers a refined focal point. A gracefully curved rangehood and brass accents introduce soft visual interest.
One of the biggest challenges was working within the footprint of the existing layout to retain the original flooring. Enigma Interiors’ clever design ensured no unnecessary damage, making the renovation as seamless as possible. This kitchen now exudes warmth and elegance, perfectly tailored to the homeowners’ lifestyle – so much so they now plan to extend these design elements throughout the rest of their abode.
