The one-storey Qualia has been well-received by Queensland families and is quickly becoming one of Metricon Homes’ most popular designs nationally. With three floor plans to choose from, the Qualia delivers flexible, harmonious family living. At the heart of the home is the spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and family zone, while the rest of the spacious floor plan included the home theatre and leisure rooms, providing additional space for the family to enjoy.

The multi-award-winning Qualia 39 display home, perfectly positioned in Pelican Waters on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, exemplifies what makes this design so special.

“This is a home to tick all the boxes,” says Adrian Popple, Design Director, Metricon Homes. “The Qualia’s spacious floor plan has four bedrooms, including a lavish rear-located master suite boasting a walk-in robe and designer ensuite. The master suite also features a private courtyard, adding to the uniqueness of the design. The impressive kitchen and walk-in-pantry are also spaces that set this home apart from the rest, as are the expertly integrated indoor-outdoor living areas that take full advantage of the enviable weather and coastal landscape.”

The list of standout features doesn’t end there, though. “As you step through the entry, you will see a planter box with trailing greenery, backlit feature discs and mirrors that illuminate the space, and a concrete-look feature wall coated to give it a polished concrete appearance,” says Adrian. “Your eye will then be drawn up to the timber castellation ceiling cladding that runs the full length of the home, and down to the enriched, fuss-free polished concrete floors.

“The full-height glazing to the entry and dining combined with a 4.3m-high clerestory with automated louvre windows also draws admiring glances. Additionally, it ensures the home is flooded with an abundance of natural light and takes full advantage of coastal breezes. Then there’s the matt black and walnut timber laminate joinery that gives the interior spaces a sophisticated look and the feel of an urban oasis.”

Prioritising quality and ease, the home’s social hub — the kitchen — features integrated appliances (Fisher & Paykel and Bosch) as well as a handy hydraulic POD in the butler’s pantry. This ensures a sleek bench appearance yet provides a convenient, central station to charge electronics. The lavish kitchen also features a statement Black Tempal Caesarstone island bench with steel framing.

“Fronted by Metricon’s elegant Pelican facade, the exterior design hints at the luxury that lies within,” adds Adrian. “A striking feature of the exterior is the clever use of mixed materials, including a vertical cedar-clad garage, smooth concrete render and EasyLap cladding.”
This is a demonstration of the high level of detail you can expect inside the home and is an indication of why the Qualia 39 won Display Home of the Year at the 2022 HIA–CSR Queensland Housing Awards, among other awards.

Importantly, for those who prioritise alfresco living, the outdoor areas promise families an endless summer. Says Adrian, “There is an inviting pool; also a covered alfresco dining area. Just fire up the ILVE Artusi outdoor kitchen and look forward to a life well-lived by the water!”
