Award-winning design elevates this Pascoe Vale home with a pool that delivers big impact in a compact space
Nestled within a quiet suburban street in Pascoe Vale, this sleek, resort-style retreat proves that you don’t need a sprawling backyard to enjoy a five-star outdoor experience. Created by Rainwise Pools Melbourne, this 6m x 3.2m fibreglass pool is a testament to precision planning, collaboration and the art of minimalist design.
The homeowners had a goal — to craft a backyard that felt luxurious yet liveable, a true extension of their architecturally designed home. Their idea was a pool that blended effortlessly with the sleek lines of the house while delivering comfort, elegance and a refreshing escape from Melbourne’s summer heat. The result is a beautifully integrated space where clean contemporary architecture meets lush, low-maintenance greenery.

The Burnley pool by Rainwise — a rectangular-shaped fibreglass pool — is perfectly positioned to maximise the long, narrow footprint of the block. Large sliding doors open up from the home’s interior, creating seamless indoor–outdoor flow, while a stunning vertical green wall and potted palms bring softness and warmth to the otherwise contemporary palette.
The pool’s Halo LED colour-change lighting sets the tone for both daytime swims and twilight dips, while a Sunvolt 15kW heat pump ensures the water is inviting year-round. The filtration system — Astral’s ZX250 with a multi-cyclone pre-filter — offers top-tier performance with minimal maintenance, staying true to the owners’ brief for a streamlined lifestyle.
Installed as a “sleeper pool”, the shell was positioned and fully covered before the home was even built — a complex process that requires extensive collaboration between the pool installer and the home builder. “With a sleeper pool, timing is everything,” explains the Rainwise team. “We work closely to set the pool to final height during the excavation stage and then return post-construction to finish equipment installation and detailing.”
Over the course of nearly 10 months, this “sleeping” pool was carefully monitored to ensure optimal drainage and site safety. Rainwise has fine-tuned this method, offering homeowners a sleeper-stage handover checklist, temporary fencing, and guidance on compliance throughout construction.

This standout project didn’t just impress the clients — it swept the 2025 SPASA Victoria Awards, taking home both Best Fibreglass Pool and Best Fibreglass Pool up to $80,000. And it’s easy to see why. Minimalist yet luxurious, compact yet impactful, this Pascoe Vale gem captures the essence of modern pool design done right.
The recent awards don’t stop there; Rainwise Pools Melbourne was also awarded Best Fibreglass Pool Builder in the 2025 SPASA Victoria Awards and Best Commercial Spa at the 2025 SPASA National Awards.
In 2024, the company was honoured with Pool Business of the Year and Best Pool Shop at the SPASA Victoria Awards, with Rainwise Pools Melbourne also taking out both state and national titles for Best Fibreglass Pool up to $120K.
