Melbourne commuters continue to push the pedal, leaving the humble car at home instead opting for a two wheeled pushbike much like their European friends. As a recently converted cyclist myself I must concur that cycling, even in these cold months, is a much more pleasurable means to travel within the city. Cheaper than public transport, and less aggravating than driving cycling is a great way to travel, and will even help keep off those pesky winter kilos!
Despite the Melbourne bike share pods dotted around the city commuters are tending to purchase their own bikes whether they are stylistic fixies down Brunswick way or high tech road bikes on the south side of the river. The only problem is storage. Unless you are blessed with a large garage bike storage can be testing, especially if trying to maintain a beautiful home.
Elevating your bike up and out of the way is the best storage solution. Keep it near the front door for easy access and to avoid brining in outside dirt. Elevating your bike will also provide you with extra space.
Keep pedaling!
