A premiere residence in Perth gets the best of both worlds.
Often absent in many grand designs is the seamless flow between the building and its interior, but this house in Perth isn’t like most. As detailed in the design brief, it was imperative for leading Perth luxury home builder, Buildwise, which was assigned the project, to find a design company that could easily match high-class European materials with state-of-the-art furniture and bespoke solutions.
Ultimo Interiors was the only choice for the role. As Perth’s premiere supplier of both European and locally designed quality furnishings, Ultimo offers a full interior design and 3D planning service. As such the design team set out to match the interior to this strikingly modern Australian architecture. Ultimo Interiors first designed a complete home package that comprised four bedrooms, two walk-in wardrobes, dining, lounge, home cinema, living and storage solutions for the interiors. From sofas with built-in bookshelves to walnutfitted bedrooms with atmospheric lighting controls, the company was able to integrate the proportions and materials of the construction with interactive user-centric designs to achieve a seamless flow between build and interior that the design-savvy client had requested. The home uses delicate details in stone and wood, from Italian marble flooring to European walnut and high-gloss finishes.
The geometry of the residence, with its sweeping curved centre wall and double-height dining room, dictated the strong weight of the furniture pieces designed for the home. The Wow dining table has heavy walnut legs to link in with the kitchen cabinetry and stone work. Durable and practical finishes marrying beautifully with the structural details. The stunning master bedroom features the Mioletto bed from Hülsta in a beautifully elegant walnut finish. Designed to meet the more complex demands of the modern bedroom, Mioletto masters not simply the storage space or comfort level of the bed, but also its ability to provide functional aesthetics, wellness and harmony. All bedrooms feature Multiforma wardrobes by Hülsta. Slim and spacious, the system hides an immaculately finished and well-organised interior behind beautiful exteriors that are modern, innovative and versatile. The final touch being high-gloss lacquered finishes in black or white. A charming characteristic of the master bedroom’s spacious walk-in wardrobe is the European walnut strip, selected to mediate the warmth of the wood with the contemporary glossy surfaces. Now!7 beds by Hülsta were chosen for the second and third bedrooms as they easily match any interior furnishing style. Selected in beautiful walnut wood and combined with a high-gloss black surface along the headboard with integrated lighting, the elegance of Now!7 is seen in its straightforward form. With white-on-white interior décor, the guest suite adopts the modern, solitary bedroom range Metis to envoke a calm sophistication. Metis creates individually combined units with aluminium or chrome and fine woods. The Ultimo selection is featured in a luxurious white high-gloss lacquer and chrome legs, featuring heightadjustable cushions and integrated twin lights on the headboard. With intricate details and a mixture of materials and features, the Metis range is highly expressive.
The Wilson range by Now! home lounge is a modular system allowing for multitask seating. Featured in white-beige wool to match effortlessly with this home’s modern surroundings, the sofa and armchairs, detailed with a clean, wide shape and a rounded strung pouffe, perfect the setting for conversation, relaxation and entertainment. For a “less is more” effect, the Wow dining table from CO2 Designs seemed a perfect addition to this corner of the house. It’s an epiphany of timeless elegance with ice granite surface and walnut legs. Also the Hip sofa is featured in the upstairs lounge room, simple in design and with clever built-in shelving. In the dining room, the Tameta wall unit creates an atmosphere of elegance. Elevated on an aluminium substructure, extra-thick surfaces are contrasted with seemingly frameless glass for a floating contrast. This featured residence in Perth is the first home project completed entirely with Ultimo designs and is a wonderful extension of the design company’s 1000sqm showroom.
