Add definition and design flair to your garden with flexible steel edging
Creating and defining separate areas is an essential design component of every garden: boundaries need to be both effective and durable. An edge should give the impression that the devoted garden-owner has leapt out of bed every single day of the year and enthusiastically wielded the shovel or edger to maintain that perfectly defined border.
So, how to achieve those ideal edges and still have time to sit back and admire them? When separating any two garden elements you cannot go past steel. Mild steel garden edging effectively and permanently separates any two garden sections or materials. It creates definition and structure between gravel paths, lawn and flower beds, and it controls the spread of enthusiastic grass runners. What’s more, mild steel edging works well in all soils and climates, and will last for generations.

EverEdge flexible steel garden edging is also perfectly suited to landscaping projects of all sizes. Made from 1.6mm mild steel (90 per cent recycled) it is quick and simple to install — just hammer directly into the ground using the spikes that are part of each metre-long length. The lengths join together very simply — no extra pins, pegs or joiners are needed. EverEdge will hold a perfectly straight line and, being flexible, can be easily formed into virtually any curve or angle by hand — no special tools are needed.
EverEdge is available in four depths — 75mm, 100mm, 125 mm, and 150mm — and in either a galvanized, powdercoated black or brown finish, or in Corten. The 75mm depth is generally used to edge paths or driveways where no grass is involved, while the larger depths are used for edging lawns and flower beds, particularly where grass runners need to be controlled. When 30mm of the solid edge, which includes the spikes, is hammered into the ground, EverEdge creates an effective barrier that stops the grass runners from invading garden beds, lawns or paths.
EverEdge is also available in pre-curved rings. Two pieces make a 600mm diameter circle while three pieces make a 900mm diameter circle. The 900mm diameter curved pieces can also be expanded to make a circle of 1200mm diameter (four pieces) or 1500mm diameter (five pieces).

EverEdge garden rings can be used to make a circular edge around plants, statues, water features, and garden beds. The rings prevent grass runners invading the area around a tree or shrub, they keep in mulch and, importantly, provide protection from mowing damage and soil compaction around the roots. The lengths are simply joined together using the provided coach bolts, which are then inserted through the pre-drilled holes. It couldn’t be easier.
“Finding a versatile EverEdge solution for creating clean border edges has transformed our garden,” says an EverEdge enthusiast. “It adds a real design feature, highlights our curved shapes and, most importantly, makes maintaining the lawn edge a breeze — and keeps soil and gravel separate. It can be manipulated to work in awkward corners and slots together very quickly. It looks fantastic in both modern and traditional settings.”
