New Davey TurboSweep makes short work of pool cleaning

With more pool owners looking for cordless cleaning options, Davey is launching TurboSweep, a simple, reliable and efficient product that cleans properly, first time.

While battery runtime is often a headline feature, Davey’s Strategic Development Manager Michael Griffith says it can be easy to forget what actually matters most.

“It’s not actually about the battery life. It’s actually about the clean that you get,” he says.

TurboSweep is engineered to deliver efficient coverage, powerful suction and practical usability, backed by the reliability and service network of the Davey brand.

Michael says he has been testing TurboSweep locally over the past several months, and apart from its sturdy and thoughtful construction, the best thing about TurboSweep is that it simply gets the job done.

He says some competitors promote nine, 12 or even 15-hour battery life, but in practice may require significantly longer cleaning cycles to achieve the same result.

“You essentially have to run them three times as long just to get the same clean. If I can do it in one cycle or two cycles, most people would prefer that rather than having a robot swimming around in the pool all week,” he says.

Designed as a cordless, fully automatic cleaner, TurboSweep tackles the pool floor, walls and waterline, with strong suction power and intelligent navigation to ensure consistent coverage. It is engineered to complete a thorough clean efficiently without the clutter and maintenance issues associated with cables.

Unlike many entry or mid-level cordless robots, TurboSweep includes app connectivity and a dedicated remote control, allowing pool owners to direct the cleaner to specific trouble spots such as benches or heavy leaf areas. Its floating antenna tail improves signal reliability, ensuring strong connectivity even when the cleaner is operating on the pool floor.

Michael says real-world testing in storm conditions demonstrated the difference.

“After heavy storms we had leaves right across the pool floor. You could actually see the trail of cleaned space behind it as it moved, like what you see when mowing a lawn. That’s when I realised it’s not about how long it runs, it’s about how effectively it cleans,” he says.

TurboSweep has been designed for pool owners who want a stronger clean without unnecessary complexity. It combines efficient coverage, strong debris collection and practical usability, while also being built with repairability in mind to support long-term value.

“This product is modular which makes it easy to repair. Even the battery can be upgraded. That’s important for long-term value,” Michael says.

TurboSweep is suited for both new and existing pools, making it a practical choice for pool owners setting up a new system or upgrading from suction cleaners to something with stronger performance and easier operation.

“At the end of the day, you want something that works and covers your pool properly. That’s what this does,” Michael says.
