The light fittings and wallpaper combine to give the feeling of nature and an organic tone in this gorgeous Reece bathroom.
“The rest of the home is quite bold and eccentric but this room lends itself to a white colour scheme, providing brightness and crispness. Prior to the renovation, this space was a walk-in-robe and very cramped toilet and shower. A previous owner had the 14ft ceiling dropped to 10ft throughout this Federation home, but I decided to raise it again to the original height. I consider the bathroom a modern revamp of the classic period style, with tinges of masculinity and quirk amid the purity. The antler light fitting is a strong statement and a favourite feature. There’s also the small ram and steer head-shaped rings for the hand towels. The coloured mirrored glass in the shower is a tiny but welcome disruption to all the white. Silver birch is a favourite tree of mine so as soon as I saw that wallpaper, it was a definite inclusion. I kept the colour subtle as anything else just wouldn’t work. I also like the central mirror that creates continuity with the bedroom, where design elements such as the wallpaper and antler fitting are echoed.”
