Bathrooms today are so much more than simply a functional room and they come in all shapes and sizes. Join us as we take a walk through some of our bathroom style favourites.

Ensuite
Melbourne designer Royston Wilson and bathroomware supplier Caroma Dorf have created a romantic and contemporary bathroom that delivers a range of modern amenities within a 2m × 3m space. Neutral tones offset the gorgeous marble countertop with its patterned and textured finish.

The same stone is seen from the bedroom on the feature wall and floor. Positioned off the entrance to the walk-in robe, this bathroom is an integral space within the bedroom arrangement. The small area available meant clever layout of the bathroom was essential to its success. Smooth, clean lines and elegant fittings and fixtures ensure the bathroom’s design is timeless, with space saved via the use of a concealed cistern and walk-in shower.

The glass for the shower was cleverly cut on an angle, allowing the room to appear lighter and roomier. Included are a Dorf Arc rail shower, Dorf Arc tapware, Dorf Motif accessories and Fowler Regent semi-recessed basins.

Main bathroom
Part of a major renovation, the stunning bathroom featured here is the result of a close collaboration between a design-savvy homeowner and architect Andrew Tzannes from Habitation Architects. The homeowner wanted the main bathroom to reflect the beauty of the home’s lush, harbourside surroundings and possess a look that speaks of relaxed, modern luxury.

Synonymous with luxury and modern designer appeal, Kohler bathware products were an obvious choice for use in this home. Supplied and installed by the team at Tradelink Plumbing Centres, the fixtures’ and fittings’ smooth, flowing lines complement the two rooms’ soft, earthy palette and enhance their visual appeal. Practical and durable, the products also require little maintenance and allow for ease of cleaning, which is ideal for this busy family.

Small bathroom
Bigger isn’t always better when you add in great design and excellent choice of fittings and fixtures. This example features a wall-mounted toilet with concealed cistern and wall-mounted basin that back onto a xxx SmartStone wall.

An open shelf above is fantastic for storage of often-used items, while upper cabinets are mirror-fronted and stretch all the way to the ceiling for maximum storage. A half-wall shower screen is the perfect soft border.
The bath is carefully positioned to increase space and backs up against a XXX SmartStone finish. Light and bright, the room appears open and spacious.

Apartment bathroom
Perched on a platform to emphasise its importance within the space, the Victoria + Albert Napoli bath is the hero of this bathroom. Placed to take advantage of the gorgeous views, the bath is the main focus of the master ensuite.

Accompanying the bath is a 3.5-metre vanity, which sits beautifully against the different limestones used throughout. The layout of the bathroom was very important as the owners wanted privacy around the toilet and enough room in the shower to move around easily.

The bathroom has a very open and bright feel and, with the lack of walls, users can enjoy the view from two windows when bathing. But clever design means this is still a private space in which the owners can relax and enjoy their luxurious surroundings.

Other fittings and fixtures include stone from FGA Marble & Granite, Villeroy & Boch Subway toilet and shower head, basin taps and accessories from Candana in Edgecliff.

Walk-in bathroom
The latest must-have addition to any master bedroom, the walk-in bathroom features spacious interiors, plenty of room to move and clever design that segments the bathroom into various areas to allow for multi-use.

In this example, designed by Foster Designs, the bathroom is reached by moving through the walk-in robe. The user is greeted by a capacious vanity that features two Vitra Nuovella 4209 undercounter basins from Rogerseller. In addition, two Tonic wall mixers plus the basin outlet are mounted to a horizontal backplate.

At either side of the vanity sit the shower and toilet areas, cleverly hidden behind frosted glass doors for privacy.
