Inspired by Indonesian and South East Asian design traditions, JASSA’s vibrant colours, organic textures and bold patterns will add instant life to your home
We cannot get enough of JASSA, IKEA’s latest limited edition collection. An eclectic mix of handmade furniture, textiles and accessories inspired by Indonesian and South East Asian design traditions, every piece in this gorgeous IKEA collection is different, as all items are handmade using natural materials including rattan, bamboo, water hyacinths, sea-grass and cotton.
Here are our top picks from this exquisite range:
IKEA’s design team worked with local craftspeople on the factory floors of these regions to develop an understanding of local skills and traditional craft methods, then combining these with modern design and natural materials.
“The way the JASSA patterns are built up visually, is very much like the traditional techniques of batik or ikat to colour cloth. There are lots of competing colours, pinks and yellows and blues and greens. To begin with, you wonder how they can possibly work together, but in the end they just do,” said textile designer Paulin Machado, of the range.
JASSA will be available in Australian stores from 17 March 2017, until sold out.
