Designed as part of a new build, this kitchen was envisioned from the outset as the heart of the home, a space where everyday living and effortless entertaining could coexist in harmony.
The owners’ brief called for a kitchen that felt calm, warm and inviting, yet refined in its execution. The talented team at Kitchen Culture embraced a modern Mediterranean aesthetic for this project, defined by restraint, texture and timeless appeal.
The resulting design balances beauty with functionality. A carefully curated material palette pairs custom oak veneer with satin polyurethane cabinetry in a slim Shaker profile, creating depth without overwhelming the space. Textural Fez Subway tiles from DiLorenzo introduce a subtle tactility, enhancing the kitchen’s relaxed yet polished character.

Central to the layout is a generous three-metre rounded island, designed as both a practical workspace and a social anchor, comfortably seating five. Surrounding zones have been thoughtfully planned to support intuitive movement, allowing multiple activities to unfold seamlessly. Storage solutions, including pot drawers, integrated appliances, pull-out spice units and concealed bins ensure the kitchen performs effortlessly behind the scenes while maintaining clean, uninterrupted lines.
Connection to the surrounding bushland was a key consideration, with the design maximising natural light and views while preserving functionality. A dedicated coffee cabinet keeps daily essentials organised yet hidden, while a styling shelf above the sink adds a personal, softened touch.
The result is a kitchen that feels understated yet highly resolved. This welcoming, hardworking space is well placed to nurture, and evolve with, the rhythms of family life.
