Functionality meets designer appeal in this contemporary kitchen

By showcasing a range of different materials and colours, this contemporary kitchen oozes unique designer appeal that is matched by its seamless functionality

“The owners were adventurous and wanted to use a mix of colours and materials in their new kitchen. Sometimes when you dare to be a little bit different, you’re rewarded with something that’s individual and unique. The kitchen is minimalist, with an emphasis on clean, straight lines and a contemporary colour palette of white, silver and grey.

The owners searched for the perfect slab of granite to use for their breakfast bar to complement the home’s design, which is Balinese in style. Being a family who loves to entertain, the space had to exude designer appeal but offer functionality too.

A patterned Rimex stainless-steel benchtop defines the kitchen’s work zone. Ultra practical, the surface is extremely durable — an essential when cooking and cleaning — and gives the space a modern edge. Abundant storage is found in drawers and internal drawers hidden behind cupboard doors. Although the kitchen sits within a large area, the design sits well in the space and offers a warm, inviting vibe.”
